Front Speakers have barely any sound

My 1999 4runner LTD has a completely stock sound system which worked great until about 2 months about when all the front speakers started sounding muffled and weak. there is still sound but just barely. I've disconnected the front speakers at the connectors behind the kick panels (one at a time) to check if it was a ground out in the door but it didn't help. Any one have any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks in advance!

D.J.

on your stock head unit, verify that the Fader control is at 0 and that the bass/treble are at 0 or higher. if the fader favors the rear speakers, you obviously won't hear a lot from the fronts.

My front speakers sounded sooo terrible I just took them out. Sounds much better now, even with just the rear speakers

I plan on getting a pair of these pretty soon though http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TS-G1041R.html
