Finished my new system install.

First I want to thank Jalaber for his 3rd Gen Cargo Organizer write up in the Tech section. http://www.top4runners.com/ja/additions2.html#organizer

It allowed me to take it a little different direction and use it as a Subwoofer cabinent. Here is a picture with a Kenwood 12" Sub in it. Since the cabinet is a little below the cubic inches in volume needed for optimum performance I filled it with Polyfil batting which seems to work very well. I then mounted an A,B,C, class fire extingisher to it.

Finally got the Kenwood headunit installed and wired to the Rockford Fosgate P2002 amp bridged for the subwoofer.

All in all a great little system that does rumble quite nicely with the new Blaupunkt components!

It is there in the side of the cargo box. The sub amp is under the drivers seat.

Nice to see you again Bob!!! How is the radio going now?

David,

The Clarion you recommended is now in my wife's 95 Camry. She likes it alot! I purchased an Alpine unit from Rwmorrison and now I am in the process (whenever I have free time) to hook up some new CDT components to it w/ my Crossfire amp. I have some qlogic kick panel enclosures too that I bought from haveblue. yes, its the "75% yotatech/hand-me-down garage sale car stereo system"

The reason I was asking about the amp is that my crossfire 4channel is sorta big and I am trying to think of places to put it. Its either going under the driver's seat or now you gave me another idea (inside the enclosure). though Im sorta confused by your reply: do you have two amps? one driving your components and 1 driving your sub? i think thats what youre saying. or what do you mean by "It is there in the side of the cargo box."

also, why did you mount the cargo box on the right side vs the left side? if i were to do something similar, I'd do it on the left side so I can still use that cargo space on the right side.

and did you use MDF for all sides of the cargo box? and did you secure it down like jalaber did?

Thanks,
Bob

I am using the new Kenwood head unit to power the separates in the doors, however I am strongly considering a 4-channel amp to make it sound better.

I mounted the box on the right side because on my 2002 the right wheel well hump is actually lower than the left hump so it gave me more internal volume. The left hump has a larger bump on the rear top that interferes with a bigger box.

We used 3/4 inch MDF through the entire box. I put an eye screw on the back-facing end and used cord to secure it to the factory cargo net hook on the back corner. It does not move at all.
