Finding 12v power source to install Wolo animal house electronic horn
So i purchased the above mentioned 'Wolo animal house electronic speaker' as a gag for my 1996 Toyota 4Runner sr5. The instructions say to install the red wire with a 3amp, inline fuse, to a 12v power source. but where do i find one? I went to the hobby shop we have on base and they told me i could jerry rig it into my fuse box by wrapping the wire around an unused fuse and stick it in. I went to best buy to ask their installers and they told me i could try tapping into my ignition wires, but also said to test the wires with a voltmeter to make sure there was enough power. any recommendations? I'm trying to get this thing hooked up and mounted before this weekend so i can show it to the guys, but i dont wanna fry anything more in my vehicle than i already have.
here's the instructions that came with the horn if it helps.

I want to put the controller box down and to the right of my steering wheel so i may need some more cable too, can i use some of the extra audio wires i have from my aftermarket radio installation?

I would highly recommend against jerry rigging it to your fusebox. Simply run another wire off your positive battery terminal with an inline fuse, route it to where you want to place the speaker, then find a good ground for the speaker. At the very least you could use an add-a-fuse.
My truck had an alarm system installed that drew power from a jerry rigged fuse (stuffed into the socket) and it never worked correctly. As soon as I figured out what the problem was I ditched that setup quickly. Keep it clean when you install it, otherwise you might regret it later if you want to move it or remove it (and deal with a bunch of spliced wires, etc).
