So, currently in my truck I'm running 2 4'' Infinity Kappas up front, off the head unit, (Kenwood Excelon KDC -x590), and 2 6x9 Pioneers in the rear, off of my Jensen 300W Amp.
I'm looking for some more bass, and I found a Fosgate 12'' Punch Classic w/ a Fosgate 200W single channel amp on Craigslist for fairly cheap.
My question is, what is required to wire a second amp for my sub?
Everything should be the same as the first amp Id imagine, however I'm not sure what to do with the REM, as there is only one REM line out of the head unit and its taken by the first amp. Suggestions?

 

you can either run another remote directly off the head unit, or you can just simply jump the remote from one to the other. depending on the size of the existing wire you will need to do one of two things.

1) if you only have 8 gauge wire to the existing amp you will need to run another 8 gauge power wire from the battery to the amp ( with an inline fuse near the battery ) you will also need to run an 8 gauge ground from the amp to the exact same spot that the other amp is grounded so you dont vreate a ground loop. you will also need to run another set of rca cables unless one of the amps has a set of outputs, then you can jump from one amp to the other, or you can buy a short set of rca cables and a set of Y splitters and just split the existing rca signal near the amps.


2) if you have 4 gauge wire the same will apply for the ground, the rca cables and the remote turn on. the only difference would be rather than run a whole nother power wire, you can simply add a distribution block, split the 4 gauge to 2 strands of 8 gauge and you are good to go.
