Double Din Install

Double Din Install
Need help..I'm wanting to install my Kenwood double din stereo in my new 04 4runner.I previously had it in my 2000 Tundra.
Does this require any kind of install kit.Some have said that there is a gap because the 04 is a little wider.I talked to a rep at crutchfield and they said it doesn't require any kind of modification.
Can anyone provide me with some info on this.
My 04 has the factory cd/cassette 6 speaker system in it now.
Also will the wiring harness from my 00 Tundra still be compatible with the 04.?Any help would be great..Thanks
