De-ghetto'ing install number 4...MY OWN system!!
Well for the longest time I've been quite ashamed to show pics of my current SPL install. Namely because they are ghetto and still are even after the work. But I did want to share some for those who like pics.
Equipment shown here are 4 Incriminator Audio 20.1 (Each does 1800w rms x 1 @ 1ohm and are bridgeable, meaning that with all 4, I have 3600w rms x 2 channels @ 2ohms!) In actuality each amp isnt seeing 1ohm, but rather 0.35dcr!!
These amps were tossed in here at the last minute for last years SBN. The HG blew right after the trip home so they didnt play long in this manner. Actually they just sat and collected dust.
Backside *puke* :

Frontside: btw duct tape = 0.1 dB on the termlab oddly enough!

Amp Rack construction:

Test fitting all slots:

Yes, Mountain Dew is a requirement!!

Speaker wires are hooked up! (The 8ga wires are negative jumpers between the master and slave amp, and the 4ga is the actual speaker wire. Yes 2 channels with over 7kW rms traveling along them!!
If you were to measure the DCR on each set of 4ga wires you'd read 0.7 ohms, that is each amp is working with a 0.35ohm load!
Yes these amps are ROCK SOLID STABLE!

Power wire run and Remote turn on run! (Yes I use a relay to turn on my amps)

The RCA sides of things:

Now to find a place for 4 more of these amps so I can have a full 4 channels allowed for my class. It kinda stinks have 7.2kW and being at 1/2 power. lol

lol!! Now thats the first I've ever heard of that!
I did notice that it REALLY screws with my inner ears. Right after I got my yota running I quadded out on the drive to Tae Kwon Do. During class I could NOT do the side kick turn around back kick combo with any speed or I'd fall over backwards. (I have VERY good balance too...) The next day i decided not to quad out prior to class. Whola, I'm doing the kicks and combinations perfectly...well perfectly for a green belt 'cuz there is ALWAYS room for improvement!

Not trashing your work in any way. I love bass as much as the next freak. But your amp rack. I liked the craftmanship but it looks like you're gonna have a big cooling problem.
I'm also a big fan of "it doesn't have to look pretty, just work well."
Good luck.

I used to be big into loud bass (high school). Nowadays it pisses me off to no end when some "kid" comes bassin' up the road rattling MY mirrors (no offense to you personally). Funny how your perspective changes. At least now I don't have to spend all my money on stereo gear. I like your amp rack.

+1. Keeping it simple is always important. How warm do those bad boys get?
Question though- the plastic ports, any noise across them? What freq. are they tuned for? I used to tune SPL boxes as low as possible within reason. I think the 323 I mentioned elsewhere here was around +3-4db @41hz or so, but I can't remember. I did the math and my installer made it happen

About the amp rack there are several factors at work there on that setup:
The amps take a LONG time to get warm. Even at 0.35 dcr each, it will take about 2 hours of normal listening for them to even get luke warm. Keep in mind most amps hit thermal protect at such high temperatures that they will burn you. I have never ever seen my amps get that hot no matter how long or hard I railed on them. I wish I could say the same for the subs which are BEASTS!
My drive time is usually 20 minutes or less to and from work. Even conventional AB amps wont get hot in that short of a time.
Thirdly I wanted it simple. And each amp has 1/2" both below and above it.
Now if these were my Zapco 9.0s they'd NOT be setup like that! lol

Not sure if you are being facietious or not, so Im going to brag about them for a moment.
450oz, 13" wide motor, 100% kevlar cone, EROM high roll surround, dual 1.4 4 layer coils. RMS 1500watts. And honestly I have yet to find a louder sub, and damn few that can take the abuse these can.
For a while I ran 4 L7 12s, they were queiter, and could not take the abuse at all. One full power burp and you had to wait about 5 minutes for the L7's coils to cool down enough to burp again... The combined RMS power that both setups can handle works out to 3kW. The dd's handle 7.2kW much better.
And if you'd like a test drive in my truck id be more than happy to. Have Termlab usb and will travel!

dude, nice set up. i love the amp rack. the big bass is kinda one of those phases that i go in and out of. one day i'll just listen to some chill sappy love song junk, and the next i'll be bouncin to shoulder lean or something. but ive got nuttin anywhere close to that. it would probally help if i have a car. kinda hard to fit a couple 12's inside a reg cab behind the seat or something. ive got my 10in RF p2 hooked to the smallest and cheapest dual amp they had at best buy. lol. runs about 230watts at max, which is just what the doc ordered for my sub. but i havent ever rly turned it up all the way.
anyways, some quick q's for you bassers out there. for bump-is the 159.8db ur highest ever hit? for anyone-what are some ultimate bass songs that wont bore you, but hit clean and hard. remember im workin with a 10in here too. thanks and keep makin noise.

The 159.8 was the highest 'legal' number I've hit. That is the meter on the dash the truck sealed up. Done on the old termlab system. That system was 2 DD 9515s with about 4kW and a wall behind the front two seats.
However the highest number I've hit was when we were doing port wars, that is sticking the mic in the port, 172.4 dB in one of the ports at 24hz!
One of the songs I love is by IBP - lock on target, BUT your system has got to be strong in the 35-40hz region.
My old setup from about 5 or 6 years ago consisted of 2 eclipse 8815DVCs on 1.2kW rms (2 mtx 2300x's) On the old termlab she'd do a 150 legal at 38hz. (In comparison the system pictured above would pop off a 156 or so on the same meter.) But on that system, Lock On Target was awsome! Going through a parking garage was WAAAAY TOO much fun!

The only noise I ever get is when I go below tuning at high volume on those ports. (Doesnt happen very often at all.) I dont remember any of the specs on the boxes honestly. However I do believe that I was burping at 47hz meaning the tuning should be in the 40-43hz area. Ill do the math after work tomorrow.
