Alpine W200
Think I found my next stereo.
I will run the FJammer double DIN for awhile in the new rig when I get it, then pull it out later in favor of this new Alpine.

This puppy plays DVD movies also on the screen shown below, and it has one of the best iPod interfaces out there.
You can control the iPod right from the deck instead of messing with the iPod, and you can also do it via your steering wheel controls.
Has anyone auditioned this deck yet or seen one, and if so, what are your thoughts on this unit?

Here is another stereo I have been reading up on, the Eclipse 6600.
Twice the $$$, but two DVD slots can be used at the same time.
And it has navigation via GPS.

It too is iPod ready, but I do not have all the info, as the site is not all uplaoded with the info yet.

Can this head unit be used with the stock speakers in an '06 4Runner XSP? I will doo amp and speakers later.

I have personally seen this one:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...219118,00.html

I LIKED it!! Everything you'd want a navigation system to do.

Bogger did installed the OEM nav in his Taco. You have to trim the dash to make it fit but his setup looks sweet. The pic links don't work anymore but his webpage has some pictures of it on there.

OEM would be nice but nix the DVD. You need a $$$ adapter to even hook up a dvd player to it.
That Alpine Deck seems pricey to only be NAV-ready. I like the Eclipse model but thats just me.

The Alpine W200 requires an Ipod interface wire, but its only $30. To use it as a navigation piece will require you to purchase the Alpine Blackbird and the Alpine dockingstation for the blackbird.
The Eclipse AVN-6600 is a great piece because it has everything all included. Here is a picture of one in a Cadillac Escalade done by www.innovativerides.com (Click here for thier myspace account)

You might want to re-read it. It says "great piece" not "price".
Also, the 3 navigation pieces needed for the Alpine vs. the price for the Eclipse AVN-6600 is VERY similar.
I own both pieces, and they both have thier pros and cons.

I am still sticking with the Alpine W200.
I got to demo one last week at Cartoys when I had my alarm put in.
I really do not need nav, and if I want to, I can add the Blackbird later, or just get one of those Tom Tom ones that go on the dash.
The W200 has touch sensitive feedback.
When you touch the screen, it pushes back at you and feels like a button clicking, very cool.
They told me the quality of the Alpine is a little better too than Eclipse.

Not very many people are going to agree with that, especially if they don't carry the Eclipse.

Cartoys carries both, and they could make more $$$ of of me by selling me the Eclipse model, but he said they have less failures with the Alpine W200 unit over the Eclipse one.
Less failure is good in my book.
I hate failures.
