Well the worst business experience I have ever had is over!!
X 1,000,000
I make this short and sweet. My CD deck was stolen/ripped out of my rig. Needed dash work, got that done, went to a car sterio shop in town. Chose them becuase they were the only ones with an indoor installation bay. Yes, thats right the only one, how screwed up is this town! They don't have the right harness so they order, and I wait, a week, and never get called, so I call... ,"Oh, yeah, it's in" Great customer service, wait, it gets better.
Take my rig in, they don't have a pocket for it, but they don't tell me that while I wait, so they fab up something and CUT part of my NEW dash stuff. WHAT THE HE@! I have to wait two more weeks with the promise that the right pocket, notice I say pocket, will cover it up and it will look right. I call them several times over the past two weeks and get no straight answer if it has even been ordered. I'm pissed now, call and told them this is BULLSH@! and say I don't care if you have to pay $50 to over night it, it better be here tomorrow!! Also here is my name and number. Do I get a call when the boss comes back in? NO!!! I call again that next day, "oh yeah, its here" AHHHHHHHH
X 100,000
So I bring it in today, and what does the guy install, some bracket, not a pocket under the Deck to hold stuff, its black, and my dash is grey. The really crappy thing is that they cut my new dash piece that holds the ash try and cig ligher and goes around the stock sterio hole, so even if I get a new pocket on my own, I will have to replace that too!
X 1,000,000
(if your tired of my complaining, count yourself lucky and go to my other thread, "Nothing better than finishing at 2 AM" its all good news)
Here is my question, where should I go to order the pocket I had and want back and the stock braket I was told I needed to install them. I'm looking for a fast place that has what they say and sends what you buy. I just want things to go correctly the first time
Thanks guys, sorry about the length.

Oh man.. Sorry to hear about all that.. Wow.... if they would have started cutting on my dash without my knowledge or consent... well.... i would be raising 7 kinds of hell if it didn't look good... I would be screaming and demanding my money back.. i would get out a screwdriver and take the thing out myself... screaming the whole time that if they couldn't do it right then they should not be touching cars..... Can you tell i am always the mean customer in stores? The one that always demands excellence if i pay for it? I don't think it is too much to ask that a company does a good job,
I mean you are paying them hard earned money.

If your setup is like mine, you can get a pocket straight from Toyota for under 8 bucks. The one I have fits behind the radio bezel. If those clowns hacked up your bezel, the should pay to buy you a BRAND NEW one. That sucks man!

ok to solve problem-- go to the dealer and get both the left and right radio brackets AND the factory pocket AND the special screws for the radio brackets. Then tell the shop to ISO mount the radio-- that means no hacking ( although, depending on the type of deck, you may have to trim the top only so the face will close--and when i say trim, i mean trim. only like 1/16th of an inch. if you have all the right stuff in the beginning, almost any smart installer can put the stuff together.
I wish you were around my shop-- id help you out

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help!
I'm going to the stealership monday for sure. I wish saying something had changed what happend. Both the owner and the installer just looked at me with distant stares. Its the water over here, breeding IDIOTS.
I'm just going to take care of it myself and never deal with them again!
By the way, insurence payed for everything so far, now it will start coming out of my pocket.

Go to the toyota dealer. I lucked up and went to purchase a pocket and the dealer brought me a blank pocket a deep pocket and a pocket with a door on it for free. Lots of toyota dealers will take the pockets out when a customer orders a stock CD player for there car. The dealers normally put these in the back because they cannot sale them for new.

I will have to try that. I was in there earlier this week getting some other stuff and asked about it, but the guy just looked at his screen. This time I will make sure he understands that I don't need what came in my vehicle, I want one that will fit.

If they cut up my dash, they'd be paying for it. Dash cutting was never needed when I was installing a stereo. Now maybe there was cutting when we had to put 12 15's or something in. I'd have them replace the dash piece regardless.

Dang man....Lemme come run over those pseudo-installers just for the heck of it. Nothing worse than a bunch of piss ants messin' up you ride. I wish I knew of a kit or something that could help ya out. Let me know how it all turns out.

I agree with all of you guys. I wish I could do something but I think I blew my chance by waiting too long.
Steelhead: You know of K Falls I take it.
I would have gone over to medford but I didn't have the time to get it all set up and drive over a couple times. Where in OR are you?

Hey guys, here's an update...
I went to the stealership and got the left and right brackets and the new panel. I have gone to 3 car stereo places in town and they all have the same crappy pocket, and it doesn't fit my new brakets. The pocket they kept telling me was the right one is the "American International CarStereo UP-K750". But like I said, only one bolt hole lines up on my brakets and that doesn't strike me as good enough.
Along with the pocket not fitting the bracket, the pocket doesn't look like the one I had before I was robbed.
I need your help to figure out where to get the right pocket.
Thanks,
Erich
PS. THis first picture is the steup I had before the robbery, this is what I want to rebuild.

the pocket is available from the dealer, but you can use the "crappy" aftermarket pocket. It really doesnt bolt in, if just sits in the rear bolt holes and the small tabs hold the front. And no it doesnt fall out. Are there really no installers near you that can help--not even a good guys or something???
sounds like you have everything you need

I only called the after market ones crappy because they were two pieces and they only line up with one hole, that can't be enough.
I called the dealership just now and the guy I spoke to wasn't my normal guy, and he wasn't any help. I know they can order what I need, the guy showed me a picture last time. I just didn't know it was right back then
I guess I will call tomorrow, unless anyone here knows the exact name or part number
just thought I would try.
About the installers in town, first there are 4, and 3 of them are crappier than I'll get out.
The 4th one is fine, but I still have to get the pocket
