Ai-net to an ipod.
Got a question, I have an older alpine head unit cda-9815 (2003 model i think?) I heared that you can get a cable or module to plug a mp3 player thru the ai-net cable? Chime in plz. thanks, Andy

I have the same model. I used the Alpine iPod adapter (KCA-420i) however I found its interface to be incredibly slow, though the 9815's controls did operate all the major functions of the iPod. Still, nowhere near as intuitive as the iPod. Only good thing was that the KCA-420i keeps the iPod charged, but will not recharge from a dead battery.
Second time around, I got an AI-Net to RCA adapter, and ran a 6 foot RCA-3.5mm (headphone) jack and use a cigarette lighter adapter from Radio Shack for power, and have been very happy. Now I use the iPod's menus and its FAR easier.
Wish I'd known about that particular cable when I installed this whole setup!
