talk about total impracticality. i'd rather have a H2 on 26's and low profiles then that.

Actually this is a SHOW ONLY vehice for obvious reasons. It's been featured in virtually EVERY audio magazine out there... The funny part is I have not only seen it in action from its rediculously loud system to the fully actuated tail lights and front grille, but I also know the guy who did a lot oft he building - Ronal Murphy....

Its a very badass show truck.

Incidentally the bass makes the top of the windshield flex a solid 1" or so.

I dont get why people dont do that kind of stuff with some JL or Alpine. If your going to spend that much money...why not get the high end?

Wrong. There are most def pedals. Look closer. I have personally seen it driven from the shop to the display lanes and back.

Wrong. The gauges are 100% fully functional. If you think you can do better, please do so.

"Alpine" and "high end" in the same sentance??

BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*GASP*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

And the only thing JL has ever made that can be considered high end is the w7 and perhaps their top of the line components.

You want high end? Try Zapco, McIntosh, Brax, Rainbow, CTD, Nakamichi, A/D/S/, Focal, Eclipse... THOSE are high end, not this mainstream consumer crap like alpine or JL.

Incidentally the kicker SX amps are more than comparable to anything JL has put out and SUPERIOR to alpines amps...hehehe

If you guys dont know what you are talking about, why do you bother posting? The post count?

"Better" is certainly a matter of opinion. If you mean ridiculous overkill, then that thing would be hard to top. But obviously while I find any stereo beyond what is required for "normal" listening to be a complete waste of money. It gets you all excited.

To each his own.

But that truck wasn't designed to be a "normal" listening vehicle. It's a promotional tool. Ever seen the Alpine vehicles? They are some of the ugliest, but at the same time coolest, cars around.

Dude Im sorry. I apologize. I had not intended to offend or insult you. (This also goes to anyone I may have offended earlier also)

But there are a lot better brands than alpine and jl bro... I have a 9835 from last year. Its a decent deck but personally, if given the choice again, I'd go with a pioneer dehp7700mp or an eclipse deck or a Nak. Alpine's quality has taken a nose dive as of late. I own that 9835, a 9831, a 7850, and a 7815. The 7850 sounds the best today and that deck was made over 4 years ago...

JL makes good stuff, most of their stuff sounds excellent, but save for the w7, the company isnt on par with say Focal, A/D/S/, etc...imo

I also install this stuff on a daily basis. Thus far kicker products have been the most reliable, best sounding stuff of the mainstream large volume market....Save for perhaps JBL/Crown amps, and MTX amps.

I too have seen that truck in person at SBN in Daytona earlier this year. It is definately a work of art and saw it driven into position during the early part of the morning for setup.

It is an extreme example...the same as an exo caged rock crawler, 4 second NHRA dragster etc... completely impractical but impressive to those that travel those circles. You should also the Kicker VW Bug.....wow.

I am a huge Kicker fan, user, dealer so I am a little biased.

I always respect your comments and suggestions Bumpin but have you not had the chance to listen to a properly set up F#1 Alpine vehicle ( i don't just mean Alpines Demo vehicles although the X5 is breathtaking)? The SQ IMO is among the very best in the world today.

IMHO I belive that Alpine product (percentagewise) is in more of the worlds best SQ vehicles than any other brand.

I am feverishly trying to get Kicker product a larger following in the SQ lanes. (currently 2nd in Canada Pro 601+ USACi after the Canadian Championships Aug28th). I am 2-1-0 against Canada's Pro 601+ champ.

Almost every brand has it's place, with the right install, the right accompanying equipment in the right vehicle. There is no single brand in the world that has the BEST of everything. You need to take the best from each and blend it together for an amazing result.

Aren't the Alpine F1 components just rebadged Scan Speak revelators? Maybe with some minor modifications?
