i also think you should wait and get what you want, instead of settling for something else. it was really hard to find a 3rd gen 4x4 around here, let alone a 5spd. i consider myself very lucky. good luck

There's alot of 4x4 3rd's here in Houston, a few 5 speeds I've seen, like 3 or 4 besides mine. The 4x4's here though are mostly owned by these people that never even engage it! Oh but they just had to have the 4WD option! haha.

yeah, no kidding. frustrating when people have it and dont use it, and you're looking frantically for one.

That's the kind of 4runner I'm looking for...a road queen with a towing package that has never been used.

Yeah I'm going to be waiting for the V6. I still have my 4runner right now. The lady's mom is paying for the vehicle and instead of doing a transfer, the dumb old lady decided to send a check snail mail from Utah. On top of that, my bank (Wells Fargo) is going to put a hold on it. So I'm going to try to find her bank (Compass) and cash the check. So I don't know if it I'll have any money by this weekend. Most likely it will have to wait until my dad gets off vacation next Friday.

Thanks for all the help guys. I really appreciated it.

You sure you want one that's never been used/engaged? it's not good to have a Tcase and never give it a little exercise.

Yeah I know you are supposed to use it every once in a while to keep everything lubed. But I'm sure it will work just fine. How much the 4wd has been used really isn't an issue for me. I just want a well maintained V6 5speed in decent shape. It doesn't have to be perfect.

Mine is still for sale, a 96 SR5 4x4 5 speed with 115k miles. It has Demello slider, TJM bumper, front and rear Addco sway bar, front Swayaway racerunner and rear ome lift, Custom grey color limited leather power seat, front and rear 99 headlamp, tail lamp and grille, cup holder and e-brake mod, auto dimm mirror, husky liners all around. power coated rear bumper to match the tjm. Hmm, I think that is about it or more. I am away now but should be back in town coming tuesday or wednesday, U can drop by or we can meet up if you like.

Hey man, Hold out for the v-6. I had a 93 3.slo w/5speed, and it was gutless with 31's on it. Then I bought my 96 3.4 Auto (I was also unsuccessfully searching for a 3.4 5speed) and I LOVE the Auto. It is soooo much nicer to drive than my 93, plus it has a huge amount more power. I don't hardly even notice the wind like I did before. Anyway, to make a long post short, the autos don't suck if you can't find a 5 speed.
