I am in the DFW area and trying to decide between ordering a long block out of state or looking for a local shop to rebuild. Anyonw know of a Motor shop in the DFW area?

Last year I had my #3 cylinder go out and decided to replace the engine because it had almost 300,000 miles on it. I used City Motor Supply for my long block. It was about $1500 and came with a 10,000 mile or 12 month warranty. It could be as cheap as $950 if they can re-build your block. Otherwise it is a $400 core deposit.
I budgeted for the worst case scenario and according to them my crankshaft was beyond repair. The engine works great so far. This place came highly recommended by a few friends who say they have used them before with great results. They did give my block back, disassembled and clean as a whistle. Made the lower block into a coffee table :-) hope this helps!
