So long as it's above the 3 year old's head I'm pretty ok with it. By the by, he can read the dirty words disguised with only a ! or like. *mutter grumble*

I have had to be more careful of the links lately.....thanks to the guy who warned about the craigslist ad, I waited until it was just me. Very funny.

I like some of the silly threads so long as they don't get nasty. Some are meh, so I don't bother with them.

Get outta here!!! j/k

Masta... I truly agree with you on this. It does get somewhat out of hand. A lot of political discussions come about in the off topic section... trust me... I felt the wrath. I normally try to steer clear of it now because I don't have the decency to keep my opinion to myself. Sometimes I get aggravated at things said and make somewhat blatant jokes or comments.

Personally, I have yet to be offended by anything here besides the people who post a question, then disagree with everyone that tries to help them. Maybe mods or former mods who ban one person for something they said but then let a user with more posts or maybe that they like better do the same thing without a reprimand but hey that is a weakness of human nature. This place is cleaner than daytime television! What sort of world do some people live in where they feel offended by whether or not someone powders their boys or has had a vasectomy? Is it still 1932 somewhere around here?
Here is a suggestion,

Rule 1- One must never ever post anything objectionable or questionable in another's thread. Whether in response or otherwise.

Rule 2- All threads must be CLEARLY labeled if there is something that might be objectionable on religious grounds or otherwise. If you don't like it don't come in.

Rule 3- Absolutely NO proselytizing on the board. People have been doing that to indigenous peoples for a long time and it is wrong. I won't try to FORCE you to approach the higher authority in my manner, please show me the same respect. Don't you think it is silly for two grown men to argue over something that neither one will ever be able to prove?

Rule 4- Keep all postings in their assigned thread. No tech in for sale etc.

Rule 5- Everyone try to treat others and relate to them as you would like to be treated and related to.

Rule 6- No uncensored profanity.

Now good luck trying to enforce any of that, it should be darn near impossible considering human nature, free will what have you. I love this place, I just hate to see all the bickering and sideways glances the last little while.

My main complaint about the off topic section is that from a political stand point it is very biased. It seems one side can generally post anything, yet the other can't. Which is why I stay out of it... I fall into the latter category.

I'm fine with off-topic, if I don't find the topic interesting, then I don't click. It's as simple as that.

The off topic political threads are fine as long as everyone agrees with me...

I go to one that is even milder than Yotatech. It is totally G-rated.

I've been on several boards that are or either have gotten out of control and Yotatech is still pretty much PG and unless things get crazy it should be left alone. The off topic threads keep this board alive on slow days. I've yet to have been offended by anything on this board and even the childish stuff isn't that bad.

If I don't like the thread title I don't click it thus we do need moderation of thread titles by making them not so vague.
