hey, if you want another 3/8", i can send you a set of 10 spacers for your body lift as a favor for helping me out w/ the bumper when i get one... they're the HDPE leftovers from the spacers i have cut. i have a ton of them sitting around and would be perfect to add 3/8" to your BL. all you'd have to do is drill the centers and then install them. probally only take you 2 hours or so.

lemme know...

hmmm...sure why not. I appreciate it. James Bowler, welder, said he has no problem adding a rockware rear tire carrier for you.

what's your thoughts on the strength w/ the contact at the rear frame? the tire would be around 120# and the carrier probally another 70#

3/16" box steel fully welded and mounted IN the frame rails. I talked w/ James about YOUR bumper and he said nothing about the rear carrier being a problem. The bumper is STRONG and I wouldn't see any problem. Depending on what the mount on the carrier look like, he might have to modify the design a bit to ensure the carrier mounts flush, but I haven't seen the carrier.

You had me thinking about a carrier, but for now it stays the way it is. I',m taking it off today for a coat of primer. It weights less than the fActory bumper and hidden hitch.

With the sides braced and the exhaust rerouted I am really happy/ exctied abolut with thte results. Batter up...

i most definitely want to get some more "real life" feedback from you about it and what you'd change if you had the chance. lots of pics would be nice too...

It goes back to the shop tomorrow to have two triangle plates welded betweeen the hitch and bumper for the trailer safety chains and probably some D-rings.

Yesterday i had hoops welded onto either side of the hitch. It was a slight oversight, but oh well. I am also planning on removing the bumper this afternoon to sand and prime it.
I wheeled it a little this past week and have no issues with the bumper contacting the body. I am not rockcrwaling (nothing as extreme as SS3 or BruceTS) ,but everything I have put it through it has been prefect. The increase in departure angles has greatly helped. the added bracing for the side flares was also a much needed mod. Now the bumper has TONS more rigidity and strength.
Will post more pics when the bumper is primed.

I am starting to rethink the exhaust exiting through the side flare. When I flex the suspension, the exhaust moves a bit. Sometimes it will hit on the back side of the hole in the bumper-not much just a love tap. Perhaps it might be better to plug the hole and just have the exhaust dump down next to the flare/ hole on the inside of the bumper??
I am still figuring it out, but it is slightly annoying to hear the tailpipe hit the bumper. Plus when I paint I might have issues.

if there's contact, then it would be better to just have a downpipe and plug the hole.

that will chip the paint in no time flat w/ contact and the heat probally wouldn't be good, and with a light color, you could get some discoloration from the fumes anyway.

I know, I know. I am learning as I go. At least it will be easy to fill the hole.
If only I had changed the two-tone before I painted the front. I am so indecisive
