winch mounting dimensions
I'm about to start fabbing up a tube bumper for the front of my 2nd gen, but I'm stuck on a few things. I plan on putting a winch in this bumper some day, but don't have the money for it right now. I also don't have the dimensions or bolt hole dimensions of say the warn 8274 (which i will probably go with). I'm just wondering how to go about preparing the part of the bumper that winch will mount to if I don't have these dimensions to drill holes to mount the winch and provide the winch with enough room and everything. I'm sure i can guesstimate the actual size of the winch, but I want to get the mounting part done along with a hole for the fairlead to make things easier later. Anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this? I really want this bumper done soon cuz I'm sick of the brush guard. Thanks alot

hey man, thanks alot....i guess i could have looked a little harder. That will help alot. Anyone have dimensions on how to cut a hole for some kind of composite fairlead? Any other suggestions?

Composite fairlead? you mean like the Plastic types? I have heard of a lot of people steering away from them because they have a tendency to melt under long pulls.
I have a billet fairlead that I bought on ebay for like $30 or so. My suggestion would be to get the fairlead that you want, and then make the hole for the line.
