That is a really nice write up. The rig looks like a beast.

I do have one question though, with the rear of the leaf spring sticking out that much aren't you afraid of coming down on it after the tire clears the rock, and snapping it?

No, not really. When I had my '86 4Runner with rear leaf suspension, I slid on the springs quite a bit, and never had an issue. Granted this vehicle is heavier, as well, the springs are pretty thick themselves. I think if the springs did come down on a rock, they would push the shackle up a bit, but not too badly.

These are All Pro 56" springs. I'm curious has Schaefer is going to get his 63" springs in place.

The author is correct, but the product is wrong. The "space age pogosticks" were mentioned in the same context, but not specifically the focus of the raving.

Come on Steve, there has to be a little humor in the posterity.

Thanks for updating the other stuff SteveO.

Jim, Moab is pretty awesome, make it if you can.

I have said it's done 100's of times and you all know it's ain't done till it's in a bone yard.

It'll have a Front Range axle someday, whos kidding who. All I have to do is add the Rancho replace a leaf and the back will shoot right up to 5" to match the SAS front.

One step at a time Cheese Boy.

Then I traveled and saw the world and relized web wheeling was for fools.

The 2nd trip to Colorado and the California desert trip really opened my eyes.

Easy, run em out all the way to the end with a double shackle, all mounted to the super duper 1/4" wall boxed frame the bumper created.

It was with regard to MT/R's, that is why I got such a kick out of it.

I think you will need to do a practice swap before you hang the Front Range housing, perhaps after the first of the year.

Any more cool stuff on the Web Cam? I am getting sick of staring at the hot blonde chick.

Next Cam thing will be the rear leafs, when I get a chance after the Jamboree.

So, the bumper is part of the support system for the springs. Pretty cool. can't wait to see the setup. Being a fabricator yourself, what did you think of my setup....and be nice.

Yours is very nice. At first I wanted to make my shocks stand up more but then I got under there and realized pretty much the way you and Brezzey did it is really the only way it's going to work out.

Looks real good. I'm not going to go to the extreme of uninstalling everything and pulling the diff, I can laser it all off with the plasma and then smooth it all out with the grinder. I'm also going to leave the parking brake cable, etc in tact, so mine should actually be easier.

Whoa! A Plasma cutter. Yeah, I would say your's is going to be easier. I had a torch available, but they really heat up the metal. I think that is what happend to Breezey's tubing. He has a picture of his setup, and you can see all the diff lub leaking past the wheel bearing seals. I replaced the seals, the O-ring between the backing plate and the axle housing, the diff gasket, all of it. I figured why not, I had the entire thing apart anyway.

It sounds exciting Steve! Did you choose the leaf setup over the 4-link due to it being alot easier than a 4-link setup?

I'd love to see what the shock setups are for Breezy and SteveO's 4runners.

Chris

P.S. Are you going to have to relocate the gas tank, because of all the increased felx, or does the axle stay more centered using the leafs?

Here is SteveO's setup:

I didn't have to relocate my gas tank. As you can see in the flex shots, I can clear my gas tank skid plate.

Here is some of Breezey's setup:

Take note of the professionalism in work between the two.

Thanks Steve! I looked through your site last night, and I'll do the same on Breezy's today!
