tacoma double cab into a humvee ?
HELLO! I just joined this forum and i need your advices. I am planning to buy a tacoma double cab after i am done with my national guard training, and i wanted to modify it into something that looks like a humvee lol.
The modifications include bobbing the bed for 12 to 15 inches, cutting open the back panel of the cab, a custom camper shell, 2inch raise, sliders, custom bull bar and rear bumper, and a roof rack.
My question is how much is it gonna cost?
I don't have much experience working with steel, so is it possible that i build the camper shell out of wood !?

my advice would be to take some body work and welding classes at a local community college. Cost is relative to how good of deal you get on parts, tools, steel has been going up, how much work you can do yourself etc. Do the cap in fiberglass. Wood IMO the end result is gonne be like your photochop job.
As soon as you chop the truck you just killed any resale value.
Good Luck with it...
What is your MOS?

With the gas prices and lots of people ditching big trucks you can probably buy an H2 easier than buying a Tacoma and doing tons of work to it.
I don't think the H3s are that popular either anymore and are cheaper than H2s.
They already have the look you want without butchering a poor lil yota.
