I think I'll weigh the spare, bumper and winch and find a friend of equal weight and ask them to sit on the hood while I run the truck through the paces to see how it would affect performance, and handling at 80 mph...

That's all me bro! I will use my climbing harness and clip onto the runner while you fly down the road!!! In all seriousness, the 3vze has enough heat related demons that blocking the air flow into the engine bay, even partially could be very bad for the motor. Just a thought
