Wally World is fine up to 35s. Anything bigger and they won't touch them. $7.50/tire for lifetime rotation.

Looks like the 4Runner functions as it should. Your trailer is just the right size. Putting a 6 lug axle under it= Having a source for an extra pumpkin just in case would be great..

 

I got the front A frame built and the hitch welded on. Its just a 3500lb rated 2" ball hitch. A whopping $9.99 from Harbor Freight. I have decided that I am going to try out a little different ball setup than most people use. We'll see how it works on some mild runs before I decide whether to keep it or not.

This is the new design I am going to try out.





Anyway, the frame and body skeleton is mostly built. I just need to skin it which will likely take place next week. I plan to add my CO2 tank setup on the front. The front A frame is built from 2"X2"x1.88 wall square with some 1-5/8 .134 wall tubing.

 

Damn, that 4runner is hot! Love the front bumper! If only I had enough cash for all that purdy suspension work....

Well, I've decided to go duals after all.

So, I picked up a forward shift Tcase from a turbo truck for the crawl box(already 23 spline), and just grabbed a dual case crossmember tonight for cheap. I plan on grabbing a Top shift case next week, and have the 23spline 4.7 gear set ready to go as well.

So, only thing left will be to build the driveshafts to finish the setup.

217:1 crawl ratio in the works.

on the trailer using the front stub axles was the conversion similar to doing FROR's full floating (know it is not the whole thing)? Just bolt the ends to the housing?

 

Not really the same to Brian's kit at all. Basically, there is nothing spinning inside the axle at all. Just wheel bearings on the spindles and that is all thats turning.

 

So, I went to the pic-n-pulls today to grab some minor stuff. Mainly I was looking for a Reed Valve for my new 84'. Well, I couldn't find the exact one I needed so I was browsing around the import section and saw a Celica sitting there. So, I opened up the door and saw something that I just had to have.





These are fully adjustable, and even have power lumbar support. As soon as I sat in them, I knew I had to have them. I just couldn't believe how clean they were. They are in immaculate condition for the age. These came out of an 86' Celica GTS.







On a side note, I also grabbed an AFM from a 92' Camry to do the AFM mod for more throttle response on the low end.

So, I ordered up some new shoes this week and Friday they came in. I have been going round and round trying to figure out what tires I wanted to run. I was going to order the Cooper STTs, but when placing the order, I asked about these. I recently installed a set of 35x12.x17 on a customer's rig, and really liked the tire, and was hoping they would last and hookup as well as a blue label Krawler. These are the first 35x12.5x15 KM2s I have seen to date. At least everyone knows they are now available to boot.

I got them mounted up yesterday on the rig, but it was too late for pics. Sorry for the ty cell phone pics:





If anyone is interested in these, I can get you a pretty damn good deal on them now too.

Elvota has those same KM2 tires and they seem to work very well, I was impressed. Good thing that you passed on the Coopers, they tend to chunk and chip badly. The STTs have a hard compound.

 

I ended up just selling them off. My current SR5 seats are just too damn cumfy to take out.

 

They are $185/tire + shipping which is pretty damn reasonable depending on the zip code.
