Rock slider build

I built a set of rock sliders for my 87 regular cab the other day. I'm new to fabrication and am self taught when it comes to welding so any input is greatly appreciated.

This was my first fabrication project. I think my biggest success is that I only had about 10" of scrap when I finished. I expected to throw away quite a bit more.

Nice job after there on the truck you could probably use your 10" of scrap to make a wide spot to use as a step If you wanted too Just weld 5 inches or so on the outside of each slider, slope the ends tho so you don't get hung up on them

Looks good. I'm jealous. I just bought my first welder. Already got my diff cover on, now some sliders? Paint em and install em and let us see!

Yes, MIG. I use a miller 211 with .030 wire, 75/20 gas, on a 230 volt circuit.

I am planning on doing a flatbed for it and bracing up the front bumper a bit more. It's been back burnered for the moment while I show my track car some love.
