Rear bumper build, 1st Gen

There was a guy that posted a bumper he made on one of the Toyota Facebook pages that I just really liked. It was a simple 2“ x 4“ rectangular tub bumper. I went down to the local metal place and bought some in .25” steel. While I was there I picked up some 2“ x 3“ x .25” rectangular tube for some rock sliders. I’ll start another thread for that whenever I get to It. The 2“ x 3“ is also perfect to extend your frame at the rear. I cut the ends of the bumper to angle to the 2 inch mark. I’m going to use some of the 2“ x 3“ to make a short rock slider for the rear section of the bed. I made a cut out so as not to cover up the license plate.

Any updates on this? I like the simplicity of it.
