Organic Fab...only two bumpers like it.

Chris posted our "organic" bumper design and I thought I'd post my variant and show off my other projects.
http://homepage.mac.com/brittansmith/Menu2.html

After lifting the truck my first project was a roof rack and set of sliders. I used a C channel design to attach the sliders to the frame. It works well and they haven't moved at all. If I had to do it again I woudl have used U bolts and a plate. I am making up a set of sliders for my LC and will post the design when I am done.
I did my roof rack at the same time. It is a basic platform with mounts for my bike rack. It is tied into my load bars with U bolts. It has a rough powder coated finish that eliminates wind noise.

The second project was a front bumper. I didn't want to spend a ton of $$$ on an ARB and I didn't know if I wanted to mount a winch on it or not. In the end I chose to do a 2" reciever recovery/winch mount. It attaches to the frame in six places and has lightforce lights mounted up top. If I had this prject to do over I would have made my light hoop bigger and put in wrap around hoops to protect my head lights, like ARB's do.

My final piece of protection is the bumper. The difference between mine and Chris' is the open rear hoop, where Chris closed his in with diamond plate. I did more gusseting too. My plan is to use the hitch, where Chris didn't know how much he would use his. I had a great time with Chris on this project.

Very nice work. How much did your bumper wind up weighing?

Thanks...
Between 80 and 90lb's. I could have shaved some if I went with thinner wall and nixed the hitch.

ME TOO!!

I actually ended up using my rear bumper recently to pull a trailer loaded with yard/construction debris to the dump. It was loaded up good and worked great! Having the rear camera to back right up to the hitch was pretty sweet too the guy I borrowed the trailer from didn't know about the cameras, and he looked a little surprised when I backed right up to it - spot on, on the first try
