It's going to be an awesome truck. I think you'll be one of the first guys with a SAS'd 4Runner/1UZ combo.

Their is no manual trans for the UZ motors since none of them came with one. But a place in Australia makes a bellhousing so you can use a manual trans.

There is a couple places actually.

Dellow Automotive - http://www.dellowauto.com.au/main.html - which I'm running in my 4Runner

&

The Castlemaine Rod Shop (CRS) - http://www.rodshop.com.au/

Nice to see the swap is progressing Joel!!

Definatly interesting...

What kind of hp and torque numbers are you guys getting/expecting with the 1UZ? Just in comparison to the 5VZ... I will be expecting about 250hp out of my 5VZ with intake, headers, exhaust, and TRD supercharger. Not too sure of the torque numbers though.

An early stock 1UZ makes around 235 horsepower (i think).... but I don't know how wild his build is.

I think the factory rates the early 1uz at 250hp. Later 1uz motors ('98+?) made around 300hp. A lot of people say the early ones are underated though. Somebody else doing the swap with an earlier 1uz in a 2nd gen and is aiming for 300hp, if I remeber correctly.

Some folks down in Australia are mounting Ford Lightning and Cobra supercharges on these motors too.

that would be pretty rediculous to do that. You would be making some serious ponies

Yeah, they make some pretty good hp. I Don't remember the exact figures, but they are in the 350-450hp range easy, depending on boost, internals, and if they are intercooled.

www.lextreme.com has some great info on the 1uz, 2uz, and 3uz engines. You have to be a member to view the "forced Induction" section, but there is tons of good stuff on that forum. They've even got people putting the 1uz in boats, airplanes, MR2s, Carollas and all kinds of other stuff.

Sorry, I'll now
