Longfields are on sale!
Those of you running solid axle Trucks and Landcruisers know the weak part of the front axles is the birfield joint.
Bobby Long has been building strengthened joints that he calls longfields, and they are now on sale.

Bobby sold out and isn't taking orders until he gets the next batch in but you can still backorder the ProFields for $79 each. There is rumor of the prices going back up soon so better get it while the gettin's good!

The price wars going on right now are truly awesome.
Poly Performance just dropped the 4340 inners to 220 a pair shipped. That means that for short on 4 bills shipped, you can have a front end that will not break unless you are sending high torque to 40's on a regular basis.

OK. so. How long is the sale on Longfields going on, and when (specific dates) will he have more in. ALSO Are the profields the EXACT same thing as the longfields? And "basically" doesn't count

At this point nobody has set a firm date for the end of sale prices or next shipments, and I haven't seen any good comparasons from people who bought both so we don't know for sure how similar they are.
The conspiracy theories are flying like crazy on the PBB though.

They are the same in so much as they are specially treated birfields with adjustments of the bell and guts.
They are different in so much as the treatment type and gut adjusting is different.
The story goes that more Longfields are coming this week, no new orders will be taken until then. New Profields are coming in a couple weeks and they are taking orders on new stock, it will ship when it arrives.
Right now you can get a complete pretty much bombproof set of birfields and inner axles for about what it used to cost for two of the old style Longfields.

Any word on the arrival of the new batch?
Story goes there is a recording right now that says to try back later. I think that means that something like 600 Longfields and Profields have been sold in the last week or so. WOW!

long fields
I just got off the phone with Bobby. They will have a new batch of long fields ready thursday morning . The price has gone up to 90.00 a piece , at least thats what he told me. But its still worth it. going to go get mine tomorrow after work, since i only live 15 miles from his shop.

Where is shis shop located?? 253.....that sounds like washington, south King county I wanna think. But if you live in Tacoma, I might as well order them instead of driving heh.

I got mine
went and picked mine up tonight.Now I can have 4 wheel drive again. Kind of sucks wheelin in three wheel drive.I talked with Bobby for a bit and he only has 30 birfs left. and the next batch is going back up to 129.00 , he told me that they bought every last birf in the U.S.A. and is waiting on a shipment from Japan.
