The next steps....
Well getting everything the way want it takes a little longer then you might think After much grinding and more welding I am ready to move forward with my episode here.
I started by grinding all my welds and re welding almost everything.
had to make sure everything was kind of decent...
After all the work it was time to put a support bar in.
Then I fit in the expanded sheet metal..
My plan is to use the existing mounts on my old rack.
So I had to make some extension brackets to mount the rack.
Putting the brackets there brought the height of the rack down to where I wanted it. Not to tall but a little clearance off the roof.,.
Next episode gets a fancy slanted front plate and some paint!
Till Next time!

Still not personally crazy by the rounds. Just too much, in my opinion. I does LOOK awesome, though. Even though you welds arent fantastic, you did an excellent job.
You do know this is going to kill your MPG, right? I had a set of Yakima bars with the wind fairing on my '95 4Runner (22re, 5spd, 33x12.5 M/T tires, 2" body lift). With them on, in 2wd with the hubs unlocked, I was getting 19-20 mpg highway doing 55-65 mph. Without it on, I get 23-24 doing 60-70 mph, And 5th gear was usable on hills! My city MPG changed only minimally, if even noticeably. Just food for thought

^^ good point. This might affect your power and mpg. I had a rack made of 1" square on my flatbed with the 22r and it really hurt my power in a headwind or going uphill on the highway. 5th gear became virtually useless. Mine was welded to the bed and I finally just cut it off. Yours looks lighter than mine was though and smaller too. And it's removable if you ever wanted to take it off at all.

I didn't think there would be that much of a difference! Geez. I am running a 3.4 though but I am sure the wind resistance will still get me. It's ok though cause this is my camping/offroad truck anyhow. Thanks for your compliments I hope it all comes together nicely when I am finished.

Naw, even with the 3.4 a head-wind will hurt ya. The Yakima bars are on my v8 Tundra right now, and with a head-wind, it was waaaay noticeable than without the rack on. But, eh. Its an SUV

Sick but finished....
Well My whole family got sick took us all out in one fell swoop! But I have finished painting and mounting the lights. I think I like this look and have decided against the plate idea for now. So without further delay heres what it looks like finished.
In the future I plan on adding 2 more lights. I hope you guys enjoyed the build sorry the last part took so long but sometimes life throws you a turd
Peace and hair grease!
