hanging rear shocks first timer

Ive got some fox 2.5 11.5" travel internal bypasses off of a Ford Raptor and im going to put them on the rear of my t100. Right now ive got 12" travel in the front and a mini deaver pack on the rear with 10" 5150s

Any tips on getting the shocks in the right vertical spot so I get my full travel and dont bottom the shock too soon? (I may lay them back or tilt them in only as much as I need to make them fit)

My first idea: Should I use the bottom of my current 5150s shock body as a reference point, maybe measure from the frame to the bottom of the shock body?

Second Idea... just read this

4X4REVIEW.COM: Be A Genius - Shock Absorbers

I dont have bump stops.. they were removed long ago for a set of airbags. Should I take off my shocks and start with installing some bump stops?

Thanks

Flex the rear end out and measure the full droop and compression of the springs, then place your shocks accordingly.

To get the best performance out of a set of shocks, you want them mounted as far outboard on the axle as possible, as well as being as close to vertical as possible.

Ya but I need specific techniques and reference points to measure from etc, like a walkthrough to get the geometry right

Very few setups are identical. Walkthroughs are tough because of that. Like I said. Mount them as far outward as possible, with as little lean as is necessary, build mounts, limit droop if necessary.
