Gas Tank lift

Gas Tank lift
I Have a 3" body lift so I could do a drivetrain lift and a gas tank lift. Here is some pics and details of the gas tank lift if anyone is interested. I got the idea from 4crawler. also Did the 2.5 inch drivetrain lift from 4crawler. I wasnt sure where to post this so if it needs to be moved thats fine. Here it goes.
First need to remove cover under rear seat to get to the tank hoses and pump, remove the pump screws and loosen the hose clamps and remove the hoses from the fill and the one next to it.

here is a shot from the side that shows how far the tank hangs down stock. its about 4-5 inches so when i am done it should only be 1 -2 inches.

Here is a pic from the rear with the tank removed, you can see the rear mount bracket that will need to be shortened.

here is the cross member with the tank out, next is to cut it out so it can be lifted 3"

cross member cut out then I used the grinder to remove the left over and smooth the frame out.

plates welded on the ends of the cross member to close it in and give more to weld to frame.

Cross member welded back in place 3" higher than stock. and then painted black.

rear tank mount cut and shortened 3" and welded back in place.

Here is the end result, look how much less the tank hangs below the frame. just need to mount the skid on.

Looks good! But I thought you were able to just move the tank up to a higher bolt hole, where the gas tank in a p/u would be. Maybe I was mistaken.
No, you cannot do this to a 2nd gen. the passenger side upper axle link is integrated into the gas tank crossmember so it cannot be simply moved up, unfortunately.
