Also, the ONLY thing I'd change... and this is pure asthetics... would be to weld a small plate on the front bumper to cover up the hole of the receiver trough. It looks like it would just act like a scoop for mud and other debris.
Can't do that...I'm making a bracket that plugs into the hole to hold my front license plate.

The winch plate came with the winch when I bought it from some guy. I'm not sure if it's the warn one or not. It was much bigger before though, I cut it down to the minimum.

Nice! I like it. How thick is the back plate?

I also want to know...
Where did you get the bender?

Ummm - as for the theft concerns, why not just pull it out and leave it in the garage and not drive around with all the extra weight?

I had a helluva time finding Metric grade 10.9 (similar to SAE 8), and ended up ordering them from Fastenal too. Did you spec 10.9 or 12.9 or "strongest Metric"? 10.9 are normal hex bolts, stronger grades are only available as socket head cap screws (allen bolts).

Brian, I've thought of the theft thing too. I'm going to see if anybody makes a lockable hitch pin that is long enough to clear everything. If not, then I'll figure something out.

Nice job, cant wait to see it later this month!

If you havent found a locking pin yet, my buddy owns a trailer/lineX/tractor shop, and i can probably get you one for cost. i just need to know the lenght/size and i can see if he can get me one or order it and i can bring it up to June lake and settle up with you then.

I got my winch from him and because of the size and i wanted versitility i wanted a mulitipoint set up, now i know exactly how to attack it.

Oh ya,

The plate that actually bolts to the truck is 3/8" thick.

I did find a locking hitch pin at lowes the other day. Works like a charm. Thanks for the offer.

My plan was to leave the winch off when I didn't need it, but I've come to the conclusion that it just plain looks cooler with the winch there . I ended up ordering the 12.9 grade.

The bender is my friends so I don't know where he got it. Probably from the usual places. It works well, we were impressed by how well the bumper came out. It looks damn near professional. We were a little surprised by how much force was required to bend the tube though. As you can see from the picture my friend is putting most of his weight into bending that 1.75" OD 1/8" th tube. But it's not bad.

Can you post a picture of the front bumper from the side? Just curious how it looks that way. Awesome job...I really dig it.

That is a sweet bumper! I have been wanting a tube winch bumper but I wanted to be able to use the winch in the rear. Awesome! Do you want to make me one and bring it to Mammoth? If so, how much? And your runner is looking sweet too.

Awesome job! I wish I could just make things like that from scratch. I need to learn to weld...

I put longer shackles in about a week ago, sits pretty level now. Originals were 5 inches, new roger browns are 7 inches for approx a 1" lift.

I love the drop in winch mount. I'm thinking of doing a mount like that on mine. Anything you would change now that you have had some time with it? Any new pictures?

Bumper looks awsome, wish i could build one like that!
Are you planning on covering up that transmission cooler? Looks pretty vulnerable down there.
