D 35 question

D 35 question

i have a d35 left out of my jeep, just wondering if it owuld be as storng as the front IFS on my 94 modle or should i keep looking

Considering how weak the IFS is, probably about the same. You'd be better off with a Toy axle or 44.

Don't do it!

They are weak. Like Shane said, get a yota axle or a Dana 44. Those are the best two options.

Based on some observations of axle size made by Brian894X4 and (I believe) jeff the marmot (or maybe that was dandeman) on odw, the ifs axle strength maybe similar to a toy solid axle. It's also been said that the toy axle solid axle, with longfields, are comparable to a d44. So, I'd say the ifs axle is stronger than a d35.

Of course, an ifs axle may see more stress because of all the angles it has conform to.

so a D 44 or D60 in the front.

What type of truck should the axles come from, or does it matter. They will have to be cut down i would think.

search for the term "SAS" and you'll find A LOT of info.

But I believe it's an early 80's Jeep Grand Wagoneer you should get the D44 from.
