Totally agree the red is not you or Rover. I say gloss black or that Hammertite stuff to make clean up easier.

Don't hold your breath Snorkel Depth. It's a real P.I.T.A.

That's part of the reason I went to Long travel. Those bushing got sloppy, alignments wouldn't hold. I bought poly bushings, but you have to retain the metal sleeve off the factory bushings. The factory rubber is vulcanized onto the sleeve so you have to melt it off, which can easily mess up the sleeve. My toyota specialist wouldn't even touch teh job.....so I know it sucks.

 

I really hate it when pita gets capital letters and punctuation.

God only knows what's in store for the front end of my truck when the IFS dies.

 

It's doable, i guess. I mean they sell poly bushings. Taking the bushings off isn't the problem, the big pain is salavging the sleeve as far as I know. They take the arms off and put new ones on for LT kits without problem. SO maybe it isn't so bad.

Hmm, that looks like the way to do those bushing, now I am kinda hoping mine go out... Fiqure I could sell off the 4" to pay for some of it :-)... Funny thing is I have the bushings sitting in the garage, I was going to replace them as a precaution... until I realized how much of a PITA it was... SAS is WAY EASIER!!!! Only problem I have is I would have to refab my ARB bumper, but still easier than that damm bushing replacment.

I painted the hanger and hysteer today. I also scored some free YJ springs that I plan on using with some stock rears to make a custom (and cheap) spring pack.

Things are coming along good.

 

i get those zip ties from my work...... i actually use them to hold my tool boxes to the floor of my runner...... i will definately have fun tearing all the grease out of the knuckle i have done three axles now and when the inner seals are gone the gear oil mixes with the grease and it makes some crazy funky primordial soup i'm sure that darwin would have examined very closely
