Chastise the 85 all you want...it'll be done when it gets done. And I don't have any need to build a plate bumper.

I already said it looked good...where's the flipoff smiley when you need it...

I don't have another one...yet.

Nope, no order...yet!

When does the tire carrier begin?

don't have a clue actually.

hope to have it done completely before Christmas, but that's going to be pushing it.

gotta get the bumper properly braced up first before adding anything to the carrier.

Thanks.

Added a 7/16" bolt at each rear edge of the frame rails (about 1.5" inboard from the trailing edge) and used a load plate inside the frame that is about 1"x3" x1/4" thick to help to support the main rail better until I get it braced.

I then loaded on the rear cargo carrier, two coolers, (6) 7# bags of ice and a fully cleaned and quartered 110# dear and it's doing just fine!

Once the wings are attached to the frame brackets, they will also add more support to the bumper and will stiffen it up even more.

For the wing braces, I'm going to use 3/16" plate and basically have a vertical riser that is welded to the wings on the inside over a large surface area, then contour down and under the body and then back up a touch to the frame. off of this 3/16" plate will be another vertical riser that's welded perpendicular to it that will be one of the body contact points underneath.

Fabbing and pics to come shortly...

I just couldn't resist...

Come and listen to a story about a man named bamachem
The guy builds a bumper, now thinks the world revolves around him
Then one day he was driving down the road,
his booty fab bumper broke and he dropped his load.

two coolers...
(6) 7# bags of ice...
a fully cleaned and quartered 110# deer, venison, jerky.

Well the first thing you know ol bamachem's having a fit,
Kinfolk said "That bumper ya built ain't worth a..."
Said "Alabameee is the place you ought to be"
So they loaded up the 4Runner and moved back to Bamee.

Roll Tide, that is. No offense, but no volunqueers.

Well now its time to say good bye to bamachem and all his kin,
And he would like to thank you folks fer kindly droppin in
You're all invited back a gain to this locality
To have a heapin helpin of his bs-pitality.

Hillybilly that is. Set a spell, Take your shoes off so you can count above ten.

Y'all come back now, y'hear?.
