Advice on tube bender

hey guys am 100% new when it comes to fabrication but really want to get my foot in the door. My next investment will be a tube bender. I am a collage student and only want this as a hobby for my 87 4runner. What kinda price am i looking at and other than a welder ,tube bender ,and die am i set to go?

here is a option given to me on another thread he said he bent a cage and bumpers with it what do you guys think?




its going for $299 with a die don't really want to spend much more than that HAS ANYONE USED THIS BENDER HOW DO YOU LIKE IT AND PICS OF UR WORK?

Most dies cost $250.

If you buy cheap, that's what you are going to get.

That bender looks much better than what Harbor Freight sales. I think for it will do.Granted there are better benders out there, but that looks like a good price. As far as a welder goes get something that 220 volt, the 110 ones will work, don't expect to weld nothing to thick . Althought with the right prep work, and multiable passes a 110 weld will get the job done. I've always been taught that several small passes will be stronger than one BIG pass. I have a hobart 210, it sell for around 800 new. You will need a tubing notcher also, i bought one from Harbor Freight and its a pos. But i was able to get my bumbers done with it. You can dump dollars real fast buying fab equipment. Plan on a grand easy, maybe more.

i have decided on a JD2 model 3 bender it more expensive but i think it will pay off and for now am going to just have to grind no notcher. Any of you guy use the JD2 model 3 if post some pics of your work and what die should i Buy thinking 1.75 ?.?
