I dont understand why the Taco isnt offered dual cab. Toys have no mini truck dual cab to compete with the nissan let alone S10, Ranger, and dakota. Definatly gonna be a sick truck and I cant wait to see it flex with the coil Sas.

Didn't know the work was on here until I got told today.
Here is the winch plate brace. I was going to leave it to drill speed holes & flare but decided it wasn't required as it won't be seen or provide any benefit in strength.

Yes that is the radiator when the engine conversion was done it was made too long, so it cant be raised. It will have a bash plate made to protect it from damage though.

The only way that rig could possibly get any better would be it it was diesel.

Work has started on the tray.
The rear tyres will be pushed back about 3-4" to clear the cab on up travel to allow for up to 39" rubber.

Here is the basic layout of the bed. The pics arn't real flash due to it being night.

Well I haven't spent much time on Boofs Hilux last week so I did a little today while I was waiting for a customers 4wd to come in.
I am waiting on material as it was supposed to arrive Monday but still hasn't turned up, maybe tomorrow

Cab rollbar

Started the plates that will follow the flare onto the tray so it tends to blend the 2 together a bit more

Been a bit lazy with the updates lately, & to be honest I haven't been able to commit to this rig much lately due to other customers.

Hope you all like !!

Another little update. Did a bit of work on the Hilux, but mainly did a lot of looking at the suspension on where & how.

Nice job. I "personally" prefer the stock box... But I'm still jealous.

Wow! I just found this thread. Way to take a flash show rig and turn it into a monster trail rig

It is a lot easier for us to import Hilux's - mostly because we don't have to make the changover from right hand drive. Whereas you guys are required to make the changeover within 3 months correct? (Well I know the Kiwi's have to).

Yep, that's right but you can apply for a restricted vehicle use permit that allows you to keep the vehicle left-hand drive but this is usually only allowed for older vehicles for enthusiasts that want to keep them original for value purposes.
