No, I can tell from the picture that they won't work. The tabs need to be no more than 45° from vertical to avoid interference so I'd still have to modify them. Cool site though, thanks for the link. Not sure if I've ever seen those guys before. I've decided to keep the plastic molten for one more month and buy a bender so I can make them the way I want, my next major project sometime this spring/summer is a cage so I'll need it anyways.

Sort of found them by accident, I don't think they've been around for very long, 1 year tops.

Hey Daryl, how's you swap going? I've got an idea for the hoops that I was originally planning on using, just didn't have a way to make them. I'm looking at picking up a Pro-Tools 105hd and a 1.5x4.5x240 die to start, I'll probably add hydro to it later but I won't need that right away. Sent out a bunch of emails to vendors, waiting now to hear back from them all so I can pick out the best deal.

Welp, there's another chunk of change spent. Ordered the bender today from RBS, hopefully will have it before the upcoming holiday weekend so I can figure out how to use it and get these shock hoops made.

Got to play with the bender today, finally getting my shock hoops done. I made a quick holder for it that slips into my bumper and holds it steady.

The tube is all bent and ready to go, tomorrow I'll be adding the tabs and installing them.

How's the new bender treatin' you?

I keep thinking I should sell the Taco so I can buy a cheaper rig and get some "toys" to play with.

You and me both....Drove up Aurora today, talked to a couple of guys. I'm amazed that people are easily getting 4-5 grand on 1st and 2nd gen toys. They don't last for more than a day or so.

I may have to take Schaeffer up on an offer to find an Arizona vehicle for me....

Wrapping 1.5x.120" around a 4.5" radius die is definitely a workout, but it's also a heck of a lot of fun.

It'll take a few months, but I'll find one. The main thing is that it has been in Phoenix all it's life and that it has a 22RE and 5 Speed.

So what's left to do before we see you on the trails again...?

I'll probably sneak out and do a little "testing" here soon before it's truly done, but...

Mount up shocks and test-drive.

Front brake lines, will do today if I have time.

Front driveshaft, still haven't gotten that thing chopped up and sent out to Jesse but I'm determined to get this done today.

Guts of front axle, was waiting on getting the shocks in before finishing this. Don't think I'm going to get to this today but no rush until the driveshaft gets back.

That's it!

Got the shocks installed today, and spent the rest of the day driving around hitting every pothole and speed bump I could find. I really like these shocks.

Driveshaft is on it's way to Kali, should be in Jess' hands wednesday.

Here's a good shot of the shocks installed

http://4-low.com/tech/sas/IMG_1619.jpg

Installed the axle shafts and birfs yesterday, filled the pig, and am now waiting on the front driveshaft to return from California. Then I will finally be 4wd again!

Still gotta wire up the lockers, extend the breather on the front axle, swap around the mismarked front springs, reshape my front bumper so it'll take a hawse fairlead instead of a roller fairlead, reinstall my winch, get some longer rear shocks and build better mounts, reshape the floorpan around my third shifter so I can properly fasten a boot around it, get the cab floor Rhino'd, install my second attempt at a transfercase e-brake, upgrade the front brakes to the bigger calipers, upgrade the rear brakes to vented disks and front calipers, and about 500 other things I can't remember right now...

is that a red rag or grease in the knuckle? if its grease, take it out, you only need to fill the birfield with grease, not the entire knuckle. when you turn, you will be pushing grease out of your knuckle seals.

Grease. It only looks packed, I left room behind the birf. And you definitely should fill the knuckle some, otherwise the birf will empty itself in short time and be running dry.
