Yep, that's what we are planning to do! I can't wait to have the rear bar mounted to the c-channels so we can start mocking up the sides.

Do you have more angles? What's the separate piece? Do you have any pics mounted yet? What are you doing for the sides?

the seperate one is a cross member kinda like yours

he is workin on the sides now, 1 3/4 DOM for the bottom attached to the long 2x2 with 6" plate to cover where the bumper went. he is trying to find a way to support the DOM without weldin to the frame since he is making it bolt-on

i am sure he will post more pics

Cool man! I can't wait to see some more pics. I'm going to be picking mine up from the fab shop today. I took it in yesterday to bend the main tube back flat, because as I mentioned it bowed up when welding in the hitch tube.

Tonight, I'll be grinding down the welds around the hitch tube, then tomorrow night we'll be fitting it to the c-channel, finally.

Yep, I used solid stock, then had a shop mill it down for me to exact dimensions to fit inside the tubing. Probably overkill though if everyone else is just welding them to the surface of the tubing.

Cool pics man! You must weld and fabricate stuff a lot quicker than us, that's for sure. I can't wait to see your finished product! It's going to be awesome!

we made this bumper and 2 sets of sliders this weekend. It helps to have a 220 Miller welder in my garage. This is the first real project cause I only started welding 5 days ago and I taught myself. The only training I have is from Monster Garage and American Chopper, all I know is good penetration and stacked dimes....
I need a tube bender to finish
enough pics of mine where's yours????????
BTW I have a thread in the FAB Shop
also Maryville is close to Johnson city or Bristol right?

Here's the latest pics from tonight's work. We cut, measured, cut, measured, fit, measured, cut, etc....... until we finally got the main tube mounted to the c-channel. It's looking pretty sweet! Here's some pics of the c-channel:

Chris

P.S. Stay tuned for cardboard mockup's of the side panels next!

Wait till you see a good pic of it mounted, which I'll get today during lunch and then post it up this evening. You'll love it!

Finally did some more work on my rear bumper today. I needed to do some catching up with you guys

I intentionally left the sides and bottom plate a bit on the long side. Once I'm done getting the sides added, I'll go back and cut out un-needed material to lighten it up as much as possible.
