good call on the wires! now go all out and put a cable cutter in the middle top of the basket right in front, kinda like a 'hook knife'

I would have done rails so that you could move the basket back and forth or add to it but you did an awesome job on that roof rack my friend. you got the same dimensions on that as my Yakima for about 1/5th of the price!

and like someone mentioned, probably much stronger.... Yakima's are rated to 150lbs

Can you show the inside where the bolts go through. I drew mine up tonight, and was originally going to stay with the size of the rails already on my roof, but now I'm thinking longer would be nice.

I'd like to see more detail on how you mounted it too. My 92 also does not have rails and I would like a roof rack too.

Has anyone tried to make something up like this with those Yakima rails? I bought a welder but don't want permanent posts sticing out the roof.
