My slow 87 build
Well, I'm tired of doing homework so I've decided to start a thread for my truck. This way I won't start a new thread every time I get excited about a new part. Feel free to PM me if there are any questions.
I bought it from a buddy of mine with the 2" bl and yes it is a taco bed
The tires on it are 31x10.50 wrangler rts (that actually measure 29x11).
Awful in the dirt, just as bad on the street. The makings of a great tire, but just for kicks lets try something else.
Look what the delivery man left
And mounted. Thank God it looks a little less like a rollerskate.
Offroadtoystore.com was having the buy 3 get one free sale on procomps with free shipping, so I said why not. They measure out around 33x12.00 mounted on 15x8 wheels. Clearance is plenty in the back. I hammered the pinch weld up front for good measure. Hopefully I'll find out this weekend if any more work is needed to clear at full compression. It rubs the mudflaps at full turn, so those will probably be torn off soon.
Running stock 4.10 right now, but have a 4.88 front in the works. Just need to order gears for the rear. Suprisingly the truck still gets about 19mpg the way it is now.
Till next time
