Elmer's 82
Recently inherited my grandfather's fourth child: a 1982 Toyota SR5 Pickup. He was the second owner after buying it in 1984 from a family friend. It's been essentially totaled twice, with my grandfather Elmer reviving it both times. First a t-bone accident; no frame damage, just paint and new panels that cost more than the truck was worth. Then a tree collapsed on it while parked! New roof, no problem.
It's lived in the low Sierras outside Jackson, CA it's whole life until I brought it to Colorado Springs last year. No real rust, mechanically perfect. Could use some slight TLC to make it a real show car again. I plan to give it to my grandkid someday
16x,000 miles, 2WD 5MT, shortbed SR5. Tachometer lyfe yo. Has the high-altitude kit installed, and some sweet wheels off a Dodge Aspen.
Looking forward to scouring the wealth of knowledge here to locate old parts that RockAuto has deemed unworthy for their catalog.

Hey, it only took 11 months, but it's running again! Got all the parts installed, mostly desmogged (just left the charcoal canister on). At a muffler shop now getting stuff bent into shape so it doesn't sound like a tractor anymore. Pictures to come.
Got a video of the first start, but it's mostly a minute of me screaming in excitement. So here it is idling this morning before we got it to the shop for exhaust install

First start! (sorry for the cider and adrenaline fueled commentary) https://imgur.com/7PR6zQw

Cleaned up the harness on the passenger side, wrapped, loomed and installed all new connectors for some sensors, billet spark plug wire loom, still dirty but a bit more organized! Last thing I'll be doing in the near future at least - see about redoing the terminal connectors, new thermostat. Really want to relocate the fuel pressure regulator, or at least get a more compact one that I can tuck closer to the motor vs. having it on the wheel well. Thoughts?

4WD grill installed. Think it looks a lot better. need to source a badge though.
Rear bumper removed as well as all the trailer light wiring. I just prefer the cleaner look. Screwed if I get rear-ended though - might look into a tube bumper or something?
