Howdy, I just purchased my 1998 4runner yesterday, 4cyl, 5 speed manual, 4x4 with a/c. got the guy down to $6,500. I had toyota check it out, they said it was real tight. I found a receipt in the glove box with a ph# So I called, one owner ,"old guy" in Sacramento , 87,000 orig. miles never had a problem, He donated it to charity cause his arthritis hurt his clutch leg. The guy was really cool and had all the maintenance done on time. I been looking for over a year and finally found one with all the stuff I wanted, except the rear electric locker. Paint and interior minty, just a whiskey dent in the rear bumper. I need the 4x4 for one week a year that I camp in the desert, it will be my daily driver, I only drive about 8,000 miles a year, so this might be my last rig.
I'm looking at a moderate lift and a rear locker possibly. I kept dreaming and it finally became reality. They didn't make alot of these and SoCal yota prices are higher than the rest of the country, so I think I did good.
