White Tank area explore

White Tank area explore
A friend I work with and I are planning on doing some "exploring" around the White Tanks on Sat, May 10th. He is an avid dirt bike rider and lives in Goodyear, so he rides the area almost every weekend. He is always telling me about all the great washes and trails it would be great to take my truck on, as there are 4x4 vehicles out there every weekend.
I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone wants to go along. I don't know what to tell you to expect, as I'm not familiar with the area. He tells me some of the washes are somewhat difficult with large rocks, but this is from a dirt bike perspective. The day could end up being pretty tame or it could be pretty rough. So you can judge for yourself if it sound like something you might be interested in.

I of course can't go, but best of luck with your search. I think the White Tank area might have lots to offer.

I do know that if you find that trail (as well as others) I hope you'll act as guide for the rest of us in the near future.

Ran a trail around the back of White Tanks once in my old 2wd Xterra - should have been 4wd really, but good tires and alot of skinny pedal, plus a tug from a 4x4 at one point got me through it.
You basically start at the North Side of the mountain, entry off of a main highway (Don't know the name unfortunately), then you come out at the South end right on I10. Follows some Power line trails and some fence line, few tippy spots and hill climbs. Nothing to challenging - but some fun spots and a nice 6 hour kinda run.

Kind of on the other side of the white tanks, but there are some side trails on the way up I want to explore!

yep I think I've got directions there as well, its an easy trail but very good scenery and as Tim said, a lot of side trails.

Going to meet tomorrow around 8:15am off I-10 and Watson. Watson turns into a dirt road about a half mile north of I-10. There is an area there where some people park and leave their trailers. If anyone is thinking about going, let me know so I can look for you.

Had a great time today. We only really hit a small part of what is out there but it was some good stuff. Didn't take a lot of pics cause we didn't stop a whole lot. Definitely a place I'll be heading back to. Probably not until it start to cool down again though. Getting a bit hot out there in the afternoons.
EDIT: After looking a some of the pics and the description of the loopback from Elvota's link, some of my pics are from the Scorpion trail. Never did see the sign.
There were a few tight spots that helped me to add to my body damage collection.

Two obstacles I didn't try, but would like to next time I have more bodies

This picture doesn't do this climb justice (they never do). Would have been nice to have my truck in there for comparison

A little better POV to see how far up it was

Some more goodies

Double platform climb

A few pics of some of the washes

Just me. There were a few sections that I would have liked to try but didn't since I was the only vehicle. I know you would have like to have come so maybe next fall when it cools down a bit we can head out there to check out more stuff. It's starting to get to hot out there in the afternoons now.
