Be in tempe next saturday
Hey, I'm going to be over in tempe next saturday getting the sliders welded on. It shouldn't take too long since I'll be over there by 8 am, and should be done somewhere between 10 and 11am.
I was wondering if anyone wanted to hit up a quick trail afterwards. I fiqured if I'm going to make a 3 hr drive over might as well have some fun.

I may be available, but can't guarantee anything. My gf is out of town all next week. It all depends if she wants to do something, or wants nothing at all to do with me. You never can tell.

My plan is for the GF and I to head up to Sunrise this weekend for some DH MTB type activities, so I will most likely be unavailable.
However, if that changes, I'd be up for following (or leading) a run in the area. Maybe 404 just because it's so close... or maybe some stuff around 4-Peaks (the mountain, not brew pub )

Doesn't really matter to me because I don't know that area. As long as my stock 4runner can make it(minus the sliders not being stock ).

Florence Junction = Yes several trails can be run stock
Upper Sycamore = I wouldn't, clearance is a challenge in a couple of spots. There is lower sycamore, whick definately can be run stock, you just have to beat off all the quads, and weekend warriors.
Good luck on the Sonoran Steel I presume?

Nope stubbs but Steve is the one welding them on.
I say lets go for either fj or lower sycamore.
I need to check back though my email and see how long it's going to exactly or just email steve back.

If time is the issue, Sycamore might be a better, as it is mucho closer to tempe, but up to the cabins at martiez should be possible stock, with a scenic exit through box canyon?

I'll becoming from La Rosa Drive in Tempe, so what would be a good meeting place close to there?

Another option for a short play around could be Butch Jones and the coves. Just a thought, not to far and stocks can have a great time on the hills and what not....

I'm gonna head over there for this one. This will be one of the last runs my stock Tacoma will go out on. Hopefully, my new (to me) 4Runner will be here in the next 3 weeks.

I'll just throw this out there... even though it looks like you've got a run lined up at Sycamore. I don't have the time, or I'd join you. Even though I will be in town after all, my morning/ mid-day is taken up with some other obligations.
I'd be happy to lead a few of you through Trail 404 as a evening or even night run on Saturday.
It's SOAZtim and Westy endorsed as a fun run, so it has to be good.
I probably go there too much, but it's close (relatively, 136th street and Dynamite) and I think a unique run with enough obstacles to make things challenging. Plus barely anyone seems to know it exists, which makes traffic a non-issue.
Plus Wormhole... there is a rock at the end you can actually use your new sliders to pivot on if you wish.
So, if the sliders take longer to install than expected or Sycamore falls through... 404 can act as a backup.
