I see how you are. When I have to drive out to Gold Canyon, meeting time is 8:00am. When you have to drive up to N Phoneix, meeting time is at 9:00am. I smell an east side conspiracy.

We should just start all the runs at 9AM, that is more or less when everyone gets there anyway.

Here we go...

Funny seeing Steve-O pulling the monster truck with such a tiny tow-dolly, but if it works, it works!

Co-pilot and Navigator: Nikki and Franchesca

Previous nicknames: "Red Rover", "Plush-Mobile", "Tomatillo".
Newest name after today: "The Big Red Anchor"

Crossing the Agua Fria

Dropping into 'Dirty Sanchez'

Charlie goes for it next...

The Ladies wanted to take a break

We figured that the water was about 'a dog and a half' deep, so we decided to let Steve go first.

It turns out that 'a dog and a half' = 37"

But Charlie took the other wall and made it look easy

Starting 'White Line'

Charlie didn't seem to mind that he was getting a bit tippy...

Lining up for 'Terminator'

"Look Ma! I did the Terminator!"

"Hmmm... I think he's gonna get stuck."

"Yup, he's stuck."

Charlie ended up having to winch himself out of this one. He was hesitant about tying up to the Rover as he thought it wouldn't work. Needless to say "The Big Red Anchor" didn't budge.

Ok, I have no clue how in the world I ended up in this predicament. My rear was so far over that Brian was afraid I was going to dump the whole thing if I moved, so we hooked Charlie's winch back up to the Rover to keep 'er from sliding down any more... While the "Anchor" outweighed the Jeep by about 2 to 1 we were able to brace it enough and keep me from needing to chop the top off of my truck in the near future...

Can't remember what the name of this obstacle was... but it gave both Steve and Charlie a difficult time.

"I'm too wet!"

Steve decided to do part of the trail backwards...

Scenery on the way out.

More scenery on the way out... I also thought it was kind of hilarious that this load of girls was riding along in a truck that said "'Hummer' tours"!

All in all it was a pretty good day. The only real scary part was when the Rover seemed to be leaking fluid from somewhere. We couldn't find a source and it seemed to have coolant in it but after monitoring the gauges for a while it turned out to be a false alarm. And even though I had to bypass a number of obstacles, the Rover did amazingly well! Still needs more work though before it can really run with the big boys...

And just because I'm a dork here's a couple of Artsy pictures I took too... Let me know if anyone needs a photographer on any future trail runs!

I thought it was pretty cool how you could see the Marlin badge on Steve's crawl box...

I was the trail navigator. For some reason though, nobody liked the fifth trail I picked out for the day??

I heard you couldn't get your engine to run...whats the status on that??

Ya, engine would start and die after about 3-5 seconds. I had the "issue" before where the fuel pump would run when the truck was turned to the "ON" position before it was started. I could no longer hear the pump so I thought it might have gone. Wasn't the case.

Not sure if you are aware or not but there is a diagnostic port on the 22RE's; next to the fuse panel in the engine compartment. One of the things you can do is jumper two of the connection and it bypasses the AFM for "diagnostic purposes" when troublshooting fuel issues. This basically 'hard wires" the fuel pump. The PO must of had some similar issues and instead of actually finding and fixing the problem, he just jumpered the connections to get the truck running. The wire had come loose so the problem came back. I decided to try and actually fix the issue.

To cut the story short, the issue ended up being one of the wires on the AFM connector had pushed itself out of the connector. When the valve in the AFM was opening, it wasn't kicking on the fuel pump. I fixed the connector and the fuel pump started up.

So now the truck runs without being rigged and incase (when) I roll the truck again, the fuel pump won't continue to run and help to burn me alive.

Terminator is such a sweet run! Brings me back to my jeepin days to see those pics, looks like it was a great run. White Line looked like fun with muddy water in the drainage, that one is always tippy...
