Martinez Canyon - Difficult
*Meet at 8:00AM*
Gold Canyon Shell
(US 60 & Kings Ranch Road)
7138 E Highway 60
Gold Canyon, AZ 85218
January 24, 2009.
Charlie and Steve with the Jeeps from H2H will be there. Someone tell the War Rated buggy and the FJ40 form Miners.
At this point it's all about who can make it, not what make or model you drive. I guess my Toyota powered buggy is really Jeep when it comes right down to it. But a Jeep that does not break down!

Saturday should be a great day out in FJ and especially Martinez. Weather reports call for rain the next couple of days and clearing up by Saturday, with just a few clouds and great temperatures!

I'm not sure anyone took any photos. Trail was a good time. The five of us made it through in about 4 hours. The trail is washed out pretty good in some areas. Yellow belly was pretty washed out so that you couldn't even get lined up. Someone acutally filled in a lot of the luge on the left side. We stopped to check it out and they everyone just drove down without much trouble.
The cabins are really getting destroyed. It's a shame there are such jackasses out there.

ill tell you alot after runing it i need smoother suspention a better clutch, power steering, sliders, and lower transfer case gears my truck was maing so much banging noise yet it still drives down the road straight!

I would get the lower transfer case gears first, along with rock sliders. With the low gears you can stay out of the clutch and off the brakes more and since you will be able to 'crawl' you will find the suspension will work better and feel smoother.

or...
Buy a set of 4.7 gears and install into your existing transfer case. I have not installed 4.7 gears, however I believe it requires some shaving on the inside of the case. Sschaefer will know exactly what needs to be modified to fit the 4.7 gears, maybe he will chime in. **Edit below are the instructions...
4.7 Gear Install instructions from Marlin Crawler -

The lower gears make a world of difference on the technical trails, and it takes alot of stress off other parts of your truck such as the clutch, brakes, axles, gears, tires, suspension, shocks...everything for the most part.
