That would literally be an IFS version of my truck. Just add like 200 pounds for the skid plate differences.

Then deduct the extra weight of the limited and that would have been my truck if it still had IFS.

If you want to see why, I have a 1994 4Runner frame and a 1998 4Runner frame, it is really easy to see why one is heavier than the other.

But I really thought that the older cab and the flatbed would be well under 4K, more like 3500.

Maybe I should go weight the red truck and see how that differs from your truck.
I thought it would be under 4k as well, but not by much, however without knowing the curb weight of the truck stock its hard to guess.

I havent been able to find this number, anyone know of a site that lists weights for older Toyotas?? Would it be listed in the owners manual?

Those 37" Pitbulls and exo cage are really heavy though and my frame is the long wheel base frame too.

Yeah see what 28s weighs. It must be close to 4k w/ the 3.0, but it does have 28s so maybe it will only be 3500lbs.

BTW - For anyone looking to go to the scale on 40th St. and University, it is located just north of University on the east side of 40th St.

I just told the lady I wanted to weigh my truck and then drove off...all was good.

Heavy pig

with 37" MT/R tires and steel wheels, I'm tipping the scales at 5000lbs. As well, I didn't have my trail tools or hi-lift loaded. Just me and some junk when I went to the local dump.

Its pretty heavy. But, despite the weight, at 60mph, I can reign in 20-21mpg on the hwy.

Must be the multi-matic transfer case that makes it so heavy.....

I do know that I can put the Runner on a steeper angle now.....

When I had my Alcans made I went to the local dump and got the runner weighed... Just the runner with my recovery gear and tools in the back weighed 5K lbs, 5200 is the supposed GVWR.. .I know i had that runner at over 7K pounds, and a 2K trailer... and that little 22RE spun those 33's just fine, a little slow but just fine

I weighed the red truck.

http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.ph...26&topic=807.0

-OR-

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f86/...ty-28s-104077/

WITH: 3.0 V6, 5-Speed, Hi-Lift, Sliders, Full Un-Dented Body, 100 pound winged rear bumper & all of it's trail gear.

It tipped the scale at: 3783

The 3.0 and that weight does make a pretty nice combo.

Come on Elvis get that golden bomb on the scale.........

The rock buggy is obviously going to be alot lighter yet than the red truck. I am still really surprised that Westfalls truck is that heavy.

The weight doesn't seem to slow it down much.

I had to stop by the hardware store so I went ahead and ran by the Waste Management scale.

Weight: 4680 lbs.

This was with 1/2 tank of gas and all the normal gear I carry in the back: tools, recovery gear, spare axle, Powertank.

Did you deduct your weight if you were sitting in it?

Pretty much a wash then with the Dana 44. 4700 pound vehicles going down the trail.

I wonder how much that FJ Cruiser weighs? That thing has a much better center of gravity for sure.

That means the red truck is 1000 pounds lighter. DAM! No wonder it does so well with 28's, it does not weight anything.

I'm kind of surprised the difference wasn't more. What other 3rd gen that posted weights is running 315s? I still don't have the gas tank skid on and anything protecting the t-case so mine has the potential to become even beefier. I blame it on that chunk of steel hanging off the back and those slider you had to move.

Yeah that makes a HUGE difference. I had my 95 runner, weighed close to 5100lbs, and my 92 p/u about 1500lbs less... Both with the same susp, gears, motor, etc... same from the front bumper to the rear.. the red truck (92) was so much easier to wheel because of the weight.. and the runner had a bigger cam and was stilll a ton slower.
