Crown King 3-29-08
Today's wheeling lesson was the reemphasivetation (is that even a word?) of correct wheel placement.
Had a great time today with you all and want to thank Brian and Steve for keeping me from possible flopping my 4runner on the side (little shackie at the time) . Every time I go out I learn more and more from you all. Crown King is definitely on my list of trails to run again and getting back up into the pines made me miss the mountains even more.
I wonder if that Nissan was able to make it all the way?? Any ways on to some of the photos.
Friday night camp at Lake Plesant. (Zona4r and friends, myself and my brother all camped). We where joined by Jon around 9pm and some wild donkeys around 3am:
Carl on the first bypass (took me three tries to get up, first try I attempted it in 4Hi for some reason and didn't make, 2nd guessed myself on this one ):
A little group hudle waiting for a jeep to go up the 3rd bypass (I passed on this one and went ahead up the road)
Steve S. up first:
Jon (111db)was next:
Mad Mike at the wheel (blknblu):
Brian (az4me) on his way up:
Poor 4runner at the lunch spot (the vultures started to swarm over it )
Other random landscape photos:
On the way out. lol:
Again, I had a great time on the trail with you all. This might be my last trail run up there until the 2nd weekend in June when I go back to Sedona (can't wait for this one, mtn. biking and wheelin). The rest of the photo's can be found and did anyone get any photo's my 4runner when I about flopped it??

Can't wait to see the near flop pics T. That's definitely a fun trail and great place to wheel.

Unfortunately, the engine had bullet holes in it and so did the rest of the runner, the rear axle was missing as well. Along with a few other parts.

Yes, you missed a very good trip, but I'm sure there will be more. We had lots of fun on the trail and even more fun after the trucks were parked for the night. No big mishaps other than the renegade Rhino trip with some unscrupulous folks that Schaefer made me take. Nice pics T. The scenery is just so great out there right now. I hope everyone else had a great time also.

No, we'll have to do Desoto another time. We were "recouperating" today. I had forgot my camera so no pics from me. Good times, for sure, but I have a seriously sore back from the Rhino ride.
Details beyond that are a little foggy, but, you know what they say: What happens in Crown King stays in Crown King.
(T - that second pic is Carl, not me)

This is just a sample from the first batch. Chelsea has more on her camera, especially from the Saloon. She's even got a pic of "the renegade Rhino trip with some unscrupulous folks."
