audio installers?
So I got new HU with satellite radio and ipod controller. Best Buy wants something in the neighborhood of $150 to install it. Has anyone dealt with any other stores in the valley, particularly the east valley? Thanks.

I think he has a buddy that owns the audio shop at Broadway and Mill. Maybe you can get a hookup there. Good luck.

yeah I sent him a pm and am waiting for him to get back to me. Couldn't remember what it's called or where it is. But since you say it's at Broadway and Mill that's great. Only one shop there that I know of and it's right around the corner from me. Thanks

I would just get the right install parts from best buy and install it your self. Take your time and you will be fine. All of the after market wiring harness are pretty much standard colors. I believe there was a write up about radio removal on her as well.

your experience may vary, but...
Just got Sirius for Christmas, and decided to do the install myself. Will post my installation experience in another thread -- lots to tell -- but good God, don't go to a big box retailer for install!
I was looking for one of the adapters for direct input rather than the FM modulator or cassette, and you would not believe the responses -- everything from the totally ignorant (usually the "floaters" on the floor for the holiday rush) to the completely blank look my wife calls "the bovine stare."
Beside the fact that I am a little anal retentive about work done on my vehicles, doing it myself helped me get to know my way around the vehicle I have only had for a few months.
I will say that the instructions posted elsewhere on the site for taking the dash apart to get to the radio were extremely helpful. It was VERY easy, but the most remarkable thing was that it only required a 10mm socket wrench for everything!

Got it installed. Went to BestBuy and there was only one guy working in the bay last Sunday. He pointed out that the I-pod controller was the more expensive one that I didn't really need. That saved me about $30. He then cut me a "deal" and only charge me for the radio and the ipod, not for the sirius install. All in all, I walked away with a $30 gift card and a $60 install fee.

So post it up (installer name and which store) ...I'm sure he'd like some more business!
