I entered my crawler into a couple of timed and mud races this summer , it doesn't go fast but it Crawl's like a som'bitch. So now I have a need for speed.
I have a stock 85 4Runner with a 22Re , 3 speed auto and i think a chain drive Tcase. I have a GM 350 with a 3 speed auto. a Toyota rear-end with a Detroit locker, 5:29's and chromeoly axles to go with it. still looking for gears and locker for the front.
I can get a bell housing that adapts the motor to the transmission.
I'll likely trailer it and wont drive it more than 12 times a year, so V8 with the Yota running gear may not be so bad. besides i usually work with what i got and up grade if i break something... it happens

Any thoughts??

 

Got bumpers, sliders, winch, tires... need time, seems the only time I get is spent crawl'n in my truggy.

 

Sure is quiet in here.
I haven't even started on the mudder, but we just got our hands on about 1400 sq ft of shop. maybe ill have something by the summer. Mmmmmud Drags !!!
