Looking good in those pics. Please forgive me for my absence guys. At the last second those days turned out to be really bad. Anyways, judging by that mud, my rig (stock susp..for now) wouldn't have made it through much. I feel bad for bowing out so late but I will definitely be at the next one. Great looking group shot too.

Wow, what a great time we had!! That was an amazing trip. The wether couldn't have been better (well, was a little warm, but thats why there was a lake :beach: ). I want to thank everyone for makeing the trip (jeremy, I really wish we could have met up, guys, that was jeremy that drove by in the middle of the night. My dad who was in the mini van flashed his lights because he wasn't sure if it was M&J comming back from their midnight run. Sorry my cell phone didn't work out there, but I was out at the outpost (just 1k-2k feet from the main entrence) at 10 like I said and then M&J were there at 11 getting some stuff. Oh well, next time it will work out. I am a firm believer in doing the runs on the mid week. We had zero traffic. We didn't see anyone out there except for a few 4wheelrs and some special forces guys playing with some new turbodesiel hummers. Anyway, was a very fun frist 4RocNC meet.

--Matt, I gave chris your #, he should be getting with you shortly, if not already. I'm going to compress the files rigt now, I'll post a link.

you are FREAKIN KIDDING ME ! ! !

i remember some guy flashing his flashlight at me, but all i saw was a mini van, no runners. . . i remember cause its the only place i saw people in like the 4 different camps i drove through. . .

lord, i ALMOST WENT BACK TOO, i remember thinking that it couldnt hurt to ask if he'd seen any toyotas roaming about. you have no idea how bad that makes me feel, driving all over trying to find you guys and being that close. LEAVE A ***4runner*** by the road. . .

There were two driveways as you saw, but I parked in, and matt was on the inner part of the other with the van covering his. Jon was parked in front of me, but they went off on a midnight run, so thats why there wasn't a 4R right on the road, mine wasn't covered by one though. If only those offroad lights were working!!

Looks like we will have to do another run
I just order some cornfed 1.5 inch spacers for the front (305s rub) and hopefully I will order a 2 inch Roger Brown Body Lift before the next time. Trow out some date so we can consider another run

i think about everything except for Daniels and Dutch John's hill climb. Jon and I stayed until almost 8pm after the others headed back towards ashville -- lots of fun

EvilCow, you were right about those 2 trails. Matt and I took my truck up to dutch John made it past the two stripped/stranded vehicles untill the hill down, that's were I didn't want to be at 1am by myself, so I did a 100 point turn over the ledge and crawled back to the camp with my tail (pipe) between my wheels. Most of those poser shots were taken on Rock Mount Loop. Like matt said, we took every trail except the hill climbs of Dutch John and Daniels. Can't wait to see your truck out there again soon.
