Ok, slight change in plans for me. I'm not going to be able to make it up tomorrow night. I will be comming up earily sat with the taco. I was going to skip half of a manditory 8am-8pm lighting class and just take the bad grade. Which I can't really afford... but I was willing to take one for the team. I just talked to the guy with the taco and he has to work a jazz festival friday so he wouldn't be albe to leave either. So, I'm going to have to wait it out til sat morning. I'm going to get to bed earily and leave at about 6 so we would be there at 12. This said... I think we should meet at either arrowhead or the outpost at 12. I would kind-of prefer arrowhead because we should get there a bit before 12 and we could get our camp setup while its still light, and also you guys wouldn't have to come all the way out of the park. You won't have any problem finding the place because Mike and Will should be with the group. I guess I will give chris a call since he was the most adiment about it. I'm really excited about this and its going to be a long haul but atleast I have someone doing it with me and I won't be failing out of school
. I will call sam and chris since they might not beable to check this. For the rest of u's I'll see you at 12 on sat! Post up your vote as to where.

Arrowhead works for me, I'll be getting there around 8:00 Saterday night, I don't mind searching a bit, Aroowhead is the first camp site on the right, up there where all that horse trailers always park, or am I all turned around. I need a map again, I know it's posted somewhere here from the last trip.
LOL, I just noticed my vote doesn't even count b/c I'll be there so late, hope yall are back at Arrowhead sometime around 8:00, I don't have a CD yet and neither does John.

I dont have a CB though. I do have 2 family band, i guess thats what you call them, walkie talkies. Yall know the kind. What channel are we gonna use for those?
I can meet there as long as i get a map of the place. I forgot to print one at home and now im on a computer at my gf's college. She doesnt have any printer money left...
Arrowhead at 12:00. this works great for me.

Ive got both family (one extra as well) and a cb. I have the motorola kind that have the security codes but I think if you leave them one either one or zero then you can talk to the ones that don't have the security codes. Lets say channle 5 for the family band radios and 22 still for the CB.
Scott might not have any cds but atleast he isn't waiting for his hommade sliders

See you guys in a couple days!
Here are directions to arrowhead:
From Troy, Hwy 109 N, go to Mullinix Rd. just past Macedonia Church. Turn leftÅonto Mullinix Rd., and continue past Horse Camp. Turn right on FR 544 for 1.8 miles, then, turn left on FR 597 for 0.6 mile. Turn right on FR 597B to the entrance of the campground.

Dang it, I never can speel right<---joke.
Anyways, I have some family band radios, if we ever are close enough to use them I'll make the call when I get there. Sam can you PM me your cell number just in case, I can still get a hold of someone down there. As for sliders, I can't really talk at all there, I have some sliders they're just sitting on my floor along with my ARB 3rd, and other misc. parts.
We need to have a 4ROC wrench a thon to build up my rig. After I get it painted and no longer look like a poor redneck trying to pretend to have a 4Runner.
Try not to laugh to hard when you see my Runner, I know it looks really bad, but trust me after I get this ssupension delima figured out and get her painted, and the locker and OBA running, I'll wheel circles around you guys.

Thats ok, I'm 90% sure I won't have any protection by the end of the trip... :pat:
Sweet, can't wait to see the sliders when they are done... How much did they end up costing you to make? Want to make another set for another class??

Sam I want to see some up close pictures and details about making your sliders into air tanks. I'll be using a 2.5gal air tank with my OBA system but a little extra air in the sliders can't hurt.

Hey, Guys. I just found out my work schedule and I have to work Sat. Night and Sunday night. So I'm gonna try and make it down there by tommorow around 6 or 7. Problem Is I've never been, My stepdad is a veteran camper there so I know how to get there and all, I just need someones number or some way to get in contact with somebody when I get there tommorow night. So, If anyone would be willing to give me their cell number who wil be there tommorow around that time it would be good. Thanks

I'd give u my number, but my cell dosnt work up there. Will and myself will be at the arrowhead camp site tomorrow night around 6:00. Find arrowhead and then look for 2 white 1st gens. Should be one of the first sites in the campground.

Sweeet, I can get a radiator at walmart if I bust one... good to know as I only have ONE FREK'N BOLT holding the front of the skid plate on. I guess we could meet at the outpost. I will do my best to leave at 5:30 then so We can have time to setup camp before we meet you guys. I don't know how the guy riding with me drives (I tend to drive fast) so we shal see when we get there. I just don't want to be setting up camp at night. I like to come home and eat, and crash.
Edit:
Guys meeting at 8am, if you could have your phones on then (I think they work at the outpost) I'll call to finilize lunch plans. We should already be on our way and I'll know a little better what time we will be there. Thanks! See you tomorrow!

Same for me except for the 8am part. and i will be there at around 4 today as well.
As for the sliders, the total cost for all the metal was about $80 but i could have gotten out cheaper if i had know exactly how much i needed. probably around $70.
Scott, about the pictures... Ive already gotten both built except for all the parts dealing with mounting them to the frame and took no pics. I can tell you all about it though. I dont see how you could make it into an airtank (except for the main tube) unless you grind off the welds, drill some holes, then weld them back together.
EDIT: My number is 828-234-8242 for those who want it. It works in certain spots so im not guranteeing anything.

Sorry guys, no go for me any more. I sheered(sp), broke off two wheel studs tonight. I think I over tightened due to a bit of looseness felt earlier, now there's no way I can work all day tomarrow, get home, fix two studs and make it there in time to get an time in, plus the traffic is not favorable anyways. We'll do this again sometime soon, next time Austin won't have to drive so far and it'll be summer and traffic there will have slowed down some. Take plenty of pcitures for me. Not like I have to worry with Mr. Shutter Bug down there, get some good ones Austin.
