OMG I ate myslef. I wish there was some way I could have mae it but there was nothing that could be done. I had to hunt down that axel then it wasn't really there but there's another one further away, blah, blah, blah. Huge nasty story that can only be described as my luck this summer. But either way I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see pictures and hear all the stories you guys can recolect. I think there should be a new thread started just for that. . Oh well I really would like to get another thing together before the winter season closes the park till spring. Maybe by that time I will be able to drive. Hmm, we'll see.

Pro did you end up going or not, I know you were pretty worn out after your whole Jamacia trip and all?

NCSU, Uwharrie has not seemed to b your place for luck, first the shifter now this. For those of us who didn't get to go for one reasonor another I think we should try to mke a rn together before they close the park for the winter. You, me, Minidisc, and Prolax should head down there.

I'm going to join the chant for pictures, pictures, pictures

Custom Cruser is uploading some pics from his camera to his computer maybe he will post one soon. I am going to do another run before they close. I want to do it on the week day cause we only ran into one group of trucks. They were 3 new redesigned turbo charged Hummers full of Airborn Rangers on a "Training Mission" to test the new rigs out for the first time.
The trails were hard but very enjoyable. They were rocky, tight turns, ruts and drop offs (my arms and back are sore from no power steering)
The trail damage was:

Custom Cruiser - None
Hyperlite - None
TurboAle - Tree removed cell antenna from rear side window, dent in rear drivers side bumper, flat tire, bent up skid plate
EvilCow- lost light cover, dent in rear drivers side panel

Custom Crusier man you know you guys and whoever else is willing to mke the drive is welcome. I really just want to make run down there before they close, and maybe by that time I can have my front axel replaced and I can come burn my stock tires down slipping and sliding all the way. But yea lets get all us college kids back into the swing of things with classes and the work load and lets see about a weekend run.

yea having the place basically to yourself would be real nice. the day i went we ran into a couple groups and its a pain in the ass when they are going in the opposite direction. once class starts weekdays are gonna be kinda tough to pull unless we do it on a holiday. lets try to get it planned out as soon as possible so everyone can for sure get it worked into their schedules

Oh yeah I would rather make the run on a weekday but with classes there is no way unless we wanted to make a one day evening run, but that is no fun. Holidays are fne with me, but the only problem lies in that there will be alot of traffic then too, prolly more than normal weekend traffic. But we can do it. So lets get some dates flotting and get this thing underway as well.

my personal vote, weighing all the options, is to do a weekend run sometime fairly soon, like the last weekend of this month, or one of the first two weekends of september. just my vote, if you guys are :chicken: we can put it off, but ive been to uwharrie TWICE now and still havent done any damn OFFROADING

NCSU -- that really sux
i'm down for what ever, anytime just let me know, its less than 2hrs from my house and about an hour from work
the weekend would be cool b/c there would be more trucks to checkout instead of just those POS Hummers

if not Uwharrie maybe Tellico (Murphay, NC) yea i no its a drive for most of us but i heard its the ˟˟˟˟˟, that is if you guys arnt :chicken: (yea i had to pull that out also)

also next time we need more :beaver: and not the :pig: type

yea tellico is definetly the best stuff around, but its MASSIVE obstacles. body damage is almost 100% assured. i doubt anyone with IFS would get down even the beggining of those trails. i wont ever take my nice 4runner there. if i ever have a beater trail rig that the entire idea is to smash on it, sure ill go to tellico. . . otherwise . . . uwharrie is more than enough for me.

you said you have not been wheelin in Uwharrie -- its pretty intense in some area's, not like the powerline mud holes i am use to. body damage is not good so it sounds like a place for my cruiser.

well lets plan on another trip to uwharrie - soon!! i had a blast and am ready -- just cant go this weekend -- family in town.

HEY NOW have some faith in the ol IFS. Major offroadind trucks use IFS ie HUMVEEs and even Rock Buggies (Karnivor)
Ok it does have it's limits
I have a Rev limiter, spare tire, winch, hi-lift and extra set of CV axles that say i'll make it down the trail. In all actuallity I hear about Cheeps with 2 inch lifts and 33 make it with no sweat, but I have never been there. I am going to talk to some people to see if I can get some info on the difficulty of the trails and see if it is a place that we can go safely.
Fortunently 4Roc is a good group of reliable guys that will spot you and make sure eveyone makes it down the trails with the shinny side up and mim damage.
Uwharrie is a perfect place for our group to meet again and I can't wait to see you guys out there soon

YES YES YES . Lets do this thing, how bout first weekend in september. I hope that will be enough time for me to get off of work, they want request 3 weeks out now, it's really starting to SUCK. .

I request that we go on Sep. 5th, 6th, 7th. Please let me know if you guys think that is cool, because if that is I will ask off tomarrow to make dang sure no one screws me over on this one. I've planned on everyone of the runs now and each time something came up and I couldn't make it. So let's hear it guys, who's up for that date? If not, give me another date and I will do my best.

Man guys, that's a shame. It's okay though, there's always next spring. We will have plenty of time to head out again, and maybe when we all get alot more guts we can head out to Tellico<-- yeah right right after we all get SFA's and 35s to match.

Or we could all just beg 44Runner to come down and all ride with him...
